A dream come true. Finally I can tote everything with me I want.

My wife rides a scooter and we loved going to the flea market. But I already knew how challenging it was to carry our purchases with us as I was the one that had to carry everything. I felt like a mule. But my MS got worse so I couldn't walk much and had to buy a scooter for myself. While researching mobility scooters I found this JCV TOW HITCH and instantly fell in love with the idea of being able to tow our cargo with us since I could no longer carry it. And no longer wanted to carry it either. I never did like it.Like amazons add said, I searched "Will your scooter accept a JCV tow hitch?" in google and found the manufactures website. There I learned what a RECEIVER was so the jcv tow hitch would mount. Since I didn't yet own a scooter, I didn't know if it would come with a receiver. So I called the JCV manufactures ph # listed on their website.I was shocked when I discovered the man (Chris) that answered the phone was the owner and builder of these tow hitches. I expected a secretary or someone else that probably couldn't answer my questions. Chris was so friendly and helpful.I told him what I was thinking about buying. He said my 1st choice scooter didn't come with a receiver, but my 2nd choice did, so that was the scooter that I bought. A top of the line Pride mobility scooter for outdoor use.Chris and I also talked about folding wagons. He told me the EASYGOWAGON was the only large folding wagon that worked well with a jcv tow hitch. So I bought everything as per his recommendations. Now its several months later and I've put quite a bit of use on all of it, so now I feel qualified to share my opinions.ProsThe jcv tow hitch mounts into my scooter receiver easy and quick. One of the included pins holds it in place. It only takes 20 seconds to install it. SWEET.The tow hitch is made of thick metal, its very strong and will outlast my scooter I believe. The other reviewer that said he can build one from hardware store parts in five minutes if full of crap. And if his wife has lousy towing skills, he shouldn't blame that on the tow hitch. The tow hitch opening (the mouth) is very wide so I can fit any style wagon handle in it that I want. The 2nd included pin mounts in 10 seconds and holds any wagon handle in the mouth of the tow hitch.Everything tows well and the hitch does NOT bind on the wagon handles.CONSThe rubbing action of a wagon handle will wear off some of the paint on the tow hitch. So what... To me that's insignificant and should be expected. It took me some practice (about 15 tries) before I could learn to back up a wagon in a straight line with the scooter. My 1st five tries were hilarious. I thought I would never get the hang of it. All it wanted to do was jackknife and turn sideways on me. But I kept trying and eventually got the hang of it.Going forward is easy but backings up you have to turn the opposite of where you want to go. Now several months later I am a expert at it and can back it up anywhere I want to put it. But don't expect this skill the first few times you try it. You have to be willing to go thru the learning curve which is different and dependent upon each individual. It took my wife 50 tries (3 days) before she learned how to back up a trailer with her scooter. I learned it in two hours. But it was so much fun learning. At first its frustrating because you can't do what you want. So you just keep trying. But when you finally succeed you become overflowed with joy. The smile on my wife's face when she finally succeeded was worth a million dollars to me. I hadn't seen her that happy in a long time. The last con might not really be a con. It depends on you. When your at a flea market or some other public place, other scooter riders will stop you and ask where you got the tow hitch, that they also want to pull wagons like we are. Since we are friendly people that love gabbing, to us its NOT a nuisance but to some it might be.It's a great conversation starter. My wife loves meeting people & explaining to them how we got started towing our cargo instead of carrying it. She likes to take credit for it although I'm the one that researched it and made/paid for all the purchases. But since it makes her happy, I keep my mouth shut and let her have all the credit she wants. It seems to fill her with pride that she is on the cutting edge towing her purchases instead of the old days, hanging them off her tiller, or worse, making me carry them. I'm glad to see her so happy now. I'm really glad I don't have to carry anything anymore. My daughter started working on Saturdays and asked us if we would watch our (2 yr old) granddaughter Lisa. But Saturdays is our flea market day and we didn't want to give that up as we need reasons to get out of the house and enjoy life like when we were young and walked well.I have to give my wife credit for this one. She figured out if we bought a JCV-BUBBLE-TRAILER for Lisa, she could tow her along while I towed the folding wagon full of cargo. It has a seat belts to hold our granddaughter safe and secure inside since I don't trust her to not jump out when she gets excited.OMG. It is so much fun having our granddaughter with us while we still go to the flea market. She loves being towed in the jcv bubble trailer so much, we now take her to parks with us and our scooters. Also now that I don't have to carry the junk my wife buys, we now love going to the mall once a month. Its so nice to be able to get out and have fun again.I can pull our EASYGOWAGON folding wagon through a grocery store just fine as I am used to having to make wide turns to compensate. The easygowagon is much larger than the jcv bubble trailer. My wife cant pull the easygowagon through a crowded store with narrow isles. She gets hung up on the tight turns. But she can pull the jcv bubble trailer since it is much smaller.Whether you can pull a wagon through a crowded store will depend up your own level of driving skills, and the size of the wagon you buy.Jcv's website shows a video of a 9 year old kid towing a jcv bubble trailer through spots so tight and getting away with it, that even my own skill levels are doubtful. I guess the 9 year old boy just had enough courage to be willing to try.I am so glad I bought a jcv tow hitch as it has put so much fun back in our lives. You can buy the easygowagon Red EasyGoWagon -Folding Wagon - Folding Utility Wagon with Shade Cover from amazon, but the jcv bubble trailer is only sold from the manufactures website.I hope this helps you make up your mind whether a tow hitch will benefit you or not. Personally, I have no regrets. It's all been a positive experience for me. And I earned great brownie points with my wife and granddaughter. The only thing that could be better than that, would be to get my walking abilities back. But I will continue to make due with what I have available to me today.Thank you jcv for hand building tow hitches for us.

DIFFICULTY TO ATTACH

While I was pulling a wagon, this thing came apart. The hitch is OK, but it's difficult to attach it.

Disappointed in product.

I received this product that my wife wanted me to order. Unfortunately, I normally research products before I buy them. Since she uses a scooter, I just ordered it for her. I had already made her a hitch with a basket that worked well. This product was far too simple for the money. I could have made this from hardware store parts for about 5 dollars. My wife told me that it included the wagon, but I told her that it was only a hitch. That was her first disappointment before she even got it. She bought a wagon to go with it, but found that she couldn't get through aisles in stores with it behind her. She's back to my much cheaper bicycle basket on the back of her scooter.

I felt misled. It is only the hitch, ...

I felt misled. It is only the hitch, not the wagon.

BEST INVENTION SINCE THE MOUSETRAP

I am an 87 year old, active female who must use a mobility scooter. I have three, one in the house, another for the yard and the third is a folding one for travel. My most important one is for the yard as I am a Master Gardener and live on two acres of land. I love my gardening and yard work but had an awful time trying to carry things. My scooter came with a hitch attachment but after nearly a year of searching, I couldn't find a cart to hook up or a hitch that would fit. By accident I found the jcv. But like all others, had a dozen questions. I emailed Christ and he graciously answered all of them. My main concern was the type of wagon to use. Luckily I had purchased the mesh one a year ago and it was one that was recommended. It takes seconds to hook up and even with a full load of garden supplies, my scooter never hesitated when I started up. I can also haul my trash cans to the road. I've only had it a week but I'm sure I will find many more uses with the hitch. It may seem a bit pricey at first but the ease of use will soon make that a non-option.

Hitch for your caboose!

I read a lot of the reviews on this product. Some say they could have made it themselves. I could have but why? I thought it was built exactly how I would have done it and it should last me for several years to come. I hooked it up to my 4 wheel scooter as soon as I got it and was pulling around our garden cart moving stuff around. Great product!
