A wonderful product for an extremely reasonable price! RN/Nurse Practitioner since 1978
I’ll provide a systematic review of the Fit King massaging warmer, but want to introduce myself as a longtime healthcare provider that began experiencing knee problems after tripping (I’m 68 & have a neurological problem) & fell with my entire 142 pounds directly onto my right kneecap. I’ve diagnosed, treated, & referred hundreds of knee injuries in my career, but this is my first experience as a patient. The trauma to the knee resulted in a large hematoma & stretched/stressed tendons & ligaments that hold our knees together. As you probably know, treatment for trauma such as this for the first 48-72 hours is ice packs. That kept the swelling at a minimum, but the blood from the large hematoma coagulated there, under my kneecap, causing significant swelling & discomfort each PM. I needed something that would “massage” the muscles, tendons & ligaments, After going to physical therapy 6 times in 2 weeks. My wife, also a RN, was trying to knead this tissue by hand & did a great job, but she is also my age, so her hands fatigued somewhat quickly. Consequently, I read the description & reviews of the Fit King & purchased one.. Briefly, I love it! For more detail- My observations about this product:1. Quality: The Velcro is very sturdy & of high quality. It is adhered to ballistic type synthetic cloth. The sewing & seams are perfectly fitted & professionally sewn. I can’t imagine this brace becoming unsecured if your leg measurements are as the seller suggested. The control panel in contained in a sturdy plastic case that is much sturdier than I expected it to be for home use. Overall, the quality is on par with something I would expect to see in a professional medical clinic.2. Massage function: This is *not* a weak little vibrator that will simply rattle around on your kneecap. There are hollow air chambers that surround both the upper & lower straps (with your kneecap as the center) The air pump fills these chambers in various systematic methods, providing an experience that feels as if the physical therapist was wrapping his/her hands around the anatomical tissues & kneading them. This is accomplished by the air pump increasing, decreasing, & moderating pressure above & below the patella. It feels absolutely GREAT, during & after the treatment! There are several treatment modalities from which to choose, but the first one is so effective that I haven’t even experimented with the others! The massage process, at least for the first setting, which I prefer, is 20 minutes3. Heat function: This mechanism has 3 settings regarding heatA. Off (You can enjoy the massage with no heat)B. Yellow light indicator. (Low, but effective & soothing warmth)C. Red light indicator (Warmer, but not too hot -for me- on bare skin or light pants like pajamas)I ‘m a big believer in adding heat to the area after the first 48-72 hours. Not only is it soothing, but it increases blood flow to the area, which aids in healing, *and* that increased blood flow brings more pain medication and/or anti-inflammatory meds to the site of the injury & pain. That causes those meds to be more effective, allowing me to get up & move around with less discomfort after the treatment. My only complaint, & i admittedly may have missed it in their brochure: I wish there was an option to leave the heat on, even after the massage cycle has completed. The heat feels so nice, & I would like to be able to use it independently of the massage functions.I have been using the Fit King 2-3 times every evening for about 3 weeks & haven’t experienced a single problem. I saw that some reviewers regretted the need to have the massager plugged into an electrical outlet for use. IMHO, no combination of disposable or rechargeable batteries could provide the power needed for the air inflation massage + the heat without adding a *very* uncomfortable amount of weight! Weight that would probably significantly increase the discomfort to your wounded or achy knee architecture.I *strongly* recommend the Fit King for anyone experiencing acute or chronic trauma to the soft tissues of the knee & surrounding area. If you have bone damage from arthritis, this massager will not change bone structure, but it will certainly help the muscles, tendons, & ligaments that support those bones feel a bit better. My apologies for the long dissertation- but I hope my description & comments may prove helpful as you decide which product to buy. This one was *well* worth the expense, even at twice the price!

Helpful, but need better fastners
I brought this to help with circulation after an accident / operation to help reduce swelling. It has worked as I can feel a difference after using and swelling in the knee has been reduced. However, the Velcro fasteners need to be either upgraded or a different method used. I had no problems initially, but after about a month the Velcro fastener on one of the knees keeps "popping off" on the air expansion unless I'm in one specific position. This only happens on one of the units, the other unit is fine (so far). So it is (or at least was) helpful, but I'm reducing it by two stars because it loses two stars because its effectiveness is reduced because the bottom Velcro fastener "pops" open and thus is unusable for the bottom portion on one knee

Glorified blood pressure cuff
This is nothing more than a blood pressure cuff that upon turning on alternates expanding air into bladders to simulate massage pressure. Bought for my husband who has occasional knee pain but the cuff has gaps on each side of the kneecap to allow adjustment of fit which is exactly the spot that is where he hurts so it doesn’t really do anything for him. Bummer.

Easing Knee Discomfort
As someone who deals with occasional knee discomfort, the Knee Massager with Heat has become a welcome addition to my pain relief routine. With its heating and air compression massage functions, it effectively targets not only my knee but also the surrounding areas, providing soothing warmth and alleviating pain. One of its standout features is the long power cord, which makes it incredibly convenient to use without being tethered to an outlet. Plus, the adjustable heating levels allow for personalized comfort, catering to individual preferences. The Velcro straps make adjusting the size of the knee brace wrap massager a breeze, ensuring a snug and comfortable fit. Additionally, the 20-minute auto shut-off function provides peace of mind, preventing overheating or over-massaging.However, it's important to consider a few drawbacks. The fact that it's not wireless or rechargeable means I need to stay connected to an outlet during use, which can be somewhat limiting. Additionally, while the one-size-fits-all design is convenient, it may not be suitable for everyone, so it's essential to check the dimensions before purchasing. Lastly, the inability to adjust the auto time feature may be a drawback for some users.Despite these minor drawbacks, the Knee Massager with Heat has proven to be a valuable tool in my pain management routine, providing effective relief and promoting relaxation.
