Q: Does this come with pins?

No, it has holes for the pins that should already be on your wheel head. Made for standard wheel heads with bat pins 10” apart.

Q: if my bat gets stuck how do i remove it without damaging my wet pottery?

To remove the bat from the wheel, you can use a small paint palate to separate the two. If you are trying to get the wet clay off the bat, make a track at the bottom with a pointy wooden tool while the wheel is turning, then use the wire cutter by gently pulling it across the bottom of the piece.

Q: Doesn’t the MDF suck up water and warp?

I have not had trouble with these warping over about 8 months of use. They are very thick compared to other bat/bat systems. I do clean mine with a quick dunk in a wash bucket and then I sponge them off so there’s not visible water, and let them air dry.

Q: Where can you buy the inserts?

The set already comes with inserts included, however we will begin to offer inserts only in the near future here on Amazon.
