Purchased a pair of these struts to modify a foot stool to make a handy toy box for Pearl. They are easy to work with a straight forward to fit but you do need a little DIY knowhow!!Good quality and a damper just when it closes so no crushed little fingers. They arrived next day with instructions.

Instructions are a little difficult to follow but i worked it out for myself and all seems OK - so far!. Been fitted about a week so not tested for life yet.

Not very strong at all. They were required for a toy box lid but nowhere near up to the job.

It was easy to install and it performed perfectly well.

We was looking for some gas lift arms and soft close for our new coffee table that we purchased and all though the top lifts up via hinges it is not as smooth enough operation as we would have liked, especially with our children who do tend to drop the top and it makes a horrible slam, which makes me scared incase they get their fingers caught in the way plus it is something we do use daily.So we saw these and thought they would just be perfect for what we needed to achieve the soft close on the coffee table avoiding the nasty bangs and to help save our coffee table from breaking aswell as without these I do not think it would last that long before it would become unusable.The arms was easy enough to install and came with clear instructions on how to fit them.The quailty and build of them are very good and certainly look like they will last quite some time too.After fitting them to our coffee table we can now open and close the top without any hassle or any bad bangs and saves the table from further damage from the kids using it too.I am really glad we got these as not only do they offer smooth closing lid but most importantly I can be sure our Daughters will not have any nasty accidents where their fingers may of got squashed before we had these fitted.I would say these would be great for a variety of uses that requires slow closing for childrens safety within the home.

I got these gas struts to fit an outdoor storage box that I made. There are 2 struts each supplied with accompanying screws and ball pivot brackets. There is an instruction leaflet which gives directions on the measurements needed to fit the struts to a cupboard door or box lid.The 2 ball pivot brackets fit on each end of the strut and in turn attach to the opening cupboard door and the unit itself. You will need a ruler to measure the distance between the pivot point of the door hinge outwards and the distance depends upon what angle you want the door to open to. I set mine to 80mm and set my first screw in the door. Once one end of the strut is fitted, you just need to rotate the strut so that it sits 10mm into the box frame. It still took me 2- 3 tries to get it right as the box lid didn't close properly initially however I put this down to me being a newbie DIYer rather than any issue with the strut itself. Works really well and I'm pleased with it.

These gas spring rams feel well made with a solid construction on the ram part but with a nylon type plastic pivot at the hinge point. They do come with easy to follow instructions but to be quite frank I found the advice on another review here was more helpful in explaining how to get the position set correctly/most usefully. They're 30 cm long, compressing down to approx 21 cm.

Nice set of stays. Both ends have good mounting brackets and are easily fixed.Used to keep framed mesh lid of rabbit hutch up when cleaning. Holds a fair bit of weight but still easy to operate.
