Q: Is it hard enough to protect your passport?

It's a hard cardboard (?) cover with a vinyl cover. There is no fastener, so it will flip open if not held close.

Q: can it hold 2 passports?

Um.. I guess it could if you really wanted it to. Its definitely big enough. You could put one on one side and the other on the other side.

Q: What is the size? Specs say 6.5 x 6.5, but it doesn't look square to me.

I do not have it with me but it is not square. I LOVE it! With the credit card slots and perfect spot for a passport, It exceeded my expectations.

Q: Will a vaccine card fit in the card slot, or only in the large pocket? Thanks.

I doubt it would fit in the card slot unless folded.
