Convenient, Sturdy, Easily Un/Foldable

First thing you've gotta know about me is that I'm cheap. If I can reuse, recycle, adjust, or whatever, what I have into what I need, I'll do that first. For decades I've been using those stupid, short, round tomato cages that are never useful after the plants have been in the ground for over a month. Then, for a while I was using some fencing that I bent into circles. That was nice and tall, but hard to reach into. Eventually I turned those into baby tree protection. That left me stuck with those stupid, short, round tomato cages again. Finally, frustrated with those, I bought an A-Frame style tomato trellis that used tree stakes and clips. But the clips wouldn't stay clipped to the stakes, so I used plant wire to tie the contraption together. That thing was a mess, that kept falling apart/over. After a couple of years I took those tree stakes and the plant wire and just tied the wire around the tree stakes so I had a messy tomato cage. That worked well, but looked terrible and was hard to deal with when replanting. Finally, in a fit of frustration, I bought one pack of these expensive Happy Trees Large Heavy Duty Tomato Cages. (I may have grumbled and threatened them that they better be worth the money, when I hit the purchase button...) As a kid my family had built their own tomato cages. Eventually they progressed to building a design pretty similar to these, so I figured that if the gage of the cages were strong enough, and the wire was actually rust proof, then they should be what I wanted. (Due to health problems, I have barely been able to garden, so building any sort of tomato cage has been beyond me for the last 5 years or so.)It took these cages almost 2 months to arrive, but it was late Fall, so whatever. As long as they were worth what I was paying for them, that was fine. When they arrived I checked them over and they seemed to be much along what I wanted, so I set them outside where I would find them when it was time to plant tomatoes again.Well, I picked up my young tomato plants last week. When I went to plant the new tomatoes I remembered these cages. Once I dug them out of the pile of planting supplies I was happy to see that they were far sturdier than I remembered. In fact, they are probably sturdy enough to grow melons or gourds on! I was also happy to see that there were no signs of rust, despite sitting outside over several months of a very wet winter. It took a few pounds of strength to unfold each cage. To me, this is a good thing as it means these cages will be able to hold up whatever plant I put in them, despite the high wind gusts that are frequent here. The only thing that I didn't love about these cages is that they are a bit wide. Thus, when I went to stab the stakes into the soil in each of the 15 gallon pots that has a tomato in it, I had to maneuver a lot in order to get the greatest level of balance and the most stakes, into each pot. Of course, if I had been planting into the ground, instead of pots, this would have been a non-issue. I had wanted to make the cages more diamond shaped. Instead, I had to make them almost perfectly square, and thus the widest possible distance for the tomatoes to reach in order to be wound around the trellis. as a square I was still unable to get all of the trellis stakes into the soil in the pots. OTOH, with the sturdiness of the cages, and the size of the stakes, I felt secure that these cages were going to stay exactly where I put them. So, after all this time, I am finally happy with my current tomato cages. Yes they are very expensive. I guess they live up to the saying that you get what you pay for...

Best tomato cages I have ever bought.

These tomato cages are very sturdy, stable and easy to assemble as you only unfold them. They are easy to refold for storage.

Great quality that should last many growing seasons

Packaging was good so they arrived in good shape. Heavy box due to the quality/studiness of the product. Best quality tomato cages I've seen. Only ones that did not blow over during a recent storm. Really good for keeping tall, bushy tomato plants contained and supported. Will be easy to fold up and store for years of use. Plan to add more to the garden next year or if I see them on sale.

Nice square cages for growth.

First time using these cages and so far tomato plants are doing well in them. Wish they were of a heavier wire gauge and that the bottom rungs that insert in the ground are longer, for better stability. So far they are working well.

Abolutely love these cages

We wanted something sturdy bc we have had high winds that have blown our prior cages over. These are strong, go deep and hold the plants securely. I like that the distance between each layer of wire is wide enough to reach in and pick the tomatoes. The BIG plus, however is that these fold flat. During the off season we had a terrible time storing and disassembling and reassembling our old cages. These fold flat and slide behind our tool shed. A little pricey up front, but can be used year after year, and the convenience and sturdiness make it worth the price.

Best I've ever purchased

These are the best tomato cages I have ever used. Easy to set up, nice larger size, extremely sturdy, and easy to store. They are spendy but these cages are sturdy enough to last for nit just years but decades.
