Amazing water heater, good things do come in small packages
***UPDATE***Month 1 after installing the unit, my electric bill went from $350 the prior month down to $230 the following month. So this has had clear and immediate cost savings for my electrical usage. Very happy with the results!----------------------I wanted to replace my traditional tank water heater with an electric tankless, so I did hours of research and comparing models and options. Finally settled on this unit in the 18KW size to fit my needs. I wanted to the next higher up but my electrical panel and home service capacity made that a risk choice. However, I'm delighted at how well the 18kw model works for my whole home use-case. Thankfully due to having an EV, I already had a conveniently located sub-panel installed. All I had to do was upgrade the capacity on that sub-panel, which was as simple as buying a larger breaker and making sure the existing wiring was up to the task. Ended up taking out the old 30amp breaker the tank water heater used out of the main panel, installing a 40-amp dual pole breaker there in its place, then upgraded my sub-panel to 100amps, and finally installing the second 40-amp dual pole breaker in the sub-panel. Ran all the 8 AWG wire to the location where I wanted to mount the water heater and used an appropriate amount of conduit and secured to the wall, which for me thankfully was only about 6 feet of distance. If you have complex electrical situations happening, definitely call in a licensed electrician. At this point it was an easy install to mount the unit on the wall, secure the wiring which was intuitive, and wall labeled. I didn't find any of the wiring or instructions to be wrong or confusing so thats a plus. The moment of truth then arrived, powering on the unit and setting the desired water temperature. A few quick tests and bingo, hot water. Its not been 3 days since the install and multiple showers, laundry, running the dishwasher, etc. No issues whatsoever. In fact, this unit outperforms the tank water heater we had before. My family now reports that they have to set the faucet to a less hot position than they did previous during showers. The water flow is perfect even when both showers are running full blast. We get consistently hot water and don't have to adjust it multiple times during the course of the shower as we did with the old water heater. Overall, very happy with the performance of this unit!My application is a single story, 2 full bath home, so I wanted something that could handle two concurrent showers and the occasional hand washing or laundry running at the same time. And I'm thrilled to say that it works for me better than expected. I also love that its a newer design that separates the heating element from the water flow path, which means less maintenance and easier repairs if something goes wrong in the future. Time will tell in terms of durability, but I was impressed with the quality of the build, its well-made and appears to be a thoughtful and clean design. Other units I checked out before buying this one looked sloppy, not as well designed. I'm so glad I chose this model.Obviously do your research on your electrical capacity, sizing for your use-case, etc. All I can say is that it works for me in my whole house use-case in Central Florida. Northern cold climates may need a more powerful unit. For me, I've got no doubt this will be more efficient and save me money on my monthly electric bill compared to the old unit electrical consumption. To top it all off, I got this on Amazon Prime Day using a deal and the cost was unbeatable for what I got in this unit. Super happy, will update the review in the future should anything else happen to change my mind.

Works as intended
This unit was easy to install and has worked perfectly since I installed it. I like the ability to adjust the temperature on the front panel. I have had 4 other units over the last four years and they all failed. We have hard water so that’s part of the problem. I haven’t checked the temperature at the faucet vs the temp setting at the unit but the hot water coming out of the faucet but it’s hot enough and stays at a pretty consistent temperature. For the price I could put in a new unit every year. Be sure you have 30 amp 220 volt power available near the unit. Requires a 30 amp double pole breaker in the supply panel. I recommend you have a power disconnect close to where you mount the water heater. I am feeding a laundry sink, a washer and an outdoor shower with unit. Very nice unit.

It failed, but the service department honored the warranty
The media could not be loaded. I installed this water heater 13 months ago in my daughter’s house. She has a one bathroom home, and it has served well. However, a week ago, the unit stopped heating water. “HH” Is shown on the display. I immediately went online and entered a trouble ticket with Thermomate. The next day I called the customer support number and was encouraged that a person picked up almost immediately. John Is friendly, and did send me a troubleshooting pamphlet. We performed the steps on the pamphlet and let Jon know that did not fix it. After this, the issue got escalated to the support department . As the support department is overseas, I had to wait 24 hours for a reply. However, the ultimate solution was that they are sending me a new hot water heater. So they are honoring their two-year warranty. Easy service to work with, And as I said, the unit was easy to install and has worked fine.

Works exceeding my expectation
This tankless water heater works really well. The water is heated constantly. With the 18K model, we are 3 people in the house with two bathrooms and never have issues with hot water. It has been 4 months. Will see how long it will last. So far so good.

Does not raise temperature as described
The media could not be loaded. I just paid $2300 to have a licensed plumber and electrician install and test this. Water is only luke warm now. The unit reads it will heat to 140 degrees F, but when I turn it up to 125 to get water hot enough to bathe in it simply sits at 95-98 and won't get hotter than 100 :( very upset, took a very cold and uncomfortable shower. Our previous water heater worked great, we just wanted to go electric. Even if I return this I will not get the 2k back I paid for installation. Why will it not heat? No support so far. We typically like to take very hot showers and baths here and bought this on the pretense that it would make hot enough water to fill both bath tubs at the same time but now the water does not get hot enough to even fill one tub. It's cold by the time it fills because the water only comes out 95 degrees. DO NOT BUY THIS IT DOES NOT WORK. please refund me, I'm now almost 3k in the hole and would re install my old working heater but they took it when they installed this one.

Great point of use heater for the Ponderosa Party Palace aka the barn up at the country estate
I did not want to install a conventional water heater as it would run while not in use to keep the water hot. Waste of energy and expensive. This jewel was the answer as I put a shower, bathroom sink, and kitchen sink in the country estate barn. This was simple and easy to install and puts out enough hot water to shower with comfortably. You can adjust the temp to the desired output and it will provide the water you need.We had a "barn" service that I knew to be inadequate for my power needs and had the power company install a larger transformer to upgrade to a 'shop" service. All works great.

Great water heater
This water heater keeps a consistent temperature and raises temp like it should. It was very easy to install. I recently purchased one from another brand I won't mention and it wouldn't raise temp or keep water hot enough to shower but this one works great! I set it at 125 and it is perfect. It's a nice size it saves alot of space and don't have to worry about a tank leaking and not knowing it. I will update about the energy cost when I get my next power bill.

Installed in a new build
We installed the 27KW water heater in a 3 season cottage. It required a significant upgrade to the electricity load in the house. Minimum 200 amp. It draws 115 amps when operating at maximum. It provides all the hot water you want in a 4 bed 2 bath house. We also have an outdoor shower. There can be as many as 8 people in the house at a given time as a seasonal rental. No complaints about the hot water this year. We had installed a smaller unit in an apartment elsewhere and it was an 11kw system. Not enough to fill a tub. Shower was fine. May need to upgrade that one.We are on Prince Edward Island and this unit should work fine year round with our well.I was warned by our electrician that the electric bill might be high. We have been monitoring that and it is fine and within what we would expect.Very happy with the unit. Our property rents from time to time and we can set the water temperature so nobody gets scalded by the hot water. Very handy.Recommended.

Good quality, but 8KW is on the small side
I ordered this tankless water heater as an emergency backup. Our original tankless heater is going to celebrate its 10th birthday soon, and I don’t know how much longer it will last.Installation is simple, but you need at least some basic electrical experience, and don’t go messing around in your breaker box if you aren’t comfortable.I didn’t permanently install this heater to test it, but I did rig it to give it a trial run. I found it did as good a job of quickly heating water as our existing heater, and the adjustment knob made showed rapid gain in temperature using an IR thermometer.I had hoped this unit could be a complete replacement when the old one conks out, but the flow rate is on the low side, and it struggled to keep up in the shower. The water was still warm, just not as hot as I’d like. It would definitely make enemies fast if you turned a faucet on elsewhere in the house.Looking at Thermomate’s line of products, I think I’d drop an extra hundred dollars and get their 14KW model as a bare minimum for routine household use, and that’s based on three people in a one-bathroom house.

Check your flow demand first.
I bought this for my shop. Panel was closer than the hot water supply. I should’ve upsized to the 18kw. The garden hose flows too fast and only get 69F water. The goal was 82F at full hose flow.I bought the 11kw because I have a 60 gallon compressor and esab welder on a 70amp sub panel. With further checking. I’m pretty sure I could’ve make the 18kw work without blowing the sub panel breaker. It works… although wish I bought a bigger one.

Seems perfect
We rreplaced a 20 gallon tank heater with this unit. We only need it for the kitchen sink and bathroom sink at our cottage, and it is just what we need. It takes up almost no space, it was easy to hook up, and does a great job. I don't think it would be too useful to replace a whole house system, but it's perfect for our use. Very pleased with it, especially for the price!
