A must for digital photographers
This is a must if you print out your own photos, and with the quality of most of todays printers along with the proliferation of digital cameras, this should apply to just about everyone. Now, there is certainly better professional quality equipment out there, but after a great deal of searching around and many purchases that have since been returned, this is by far the best for its price. The construction is plastic and aluminum, but it appears to be quite sturdy (I've only owned it a couple days at this point). Operation is simple. You slide the photo to be trimmed underneath the clear guard, line it up (the edge of the guard is exactly where the cut will be made), and slide the blade across. You don't have to press down on the blade. It rides on a rail, so you don't have to worry about it moving any direction other than perfectly straight. Lastly, even though I don't think the photo slipping would be a problem without this, as the blade slides along the rail, it presses down on the clear guard, which in turn holds your photo in place. The cuts are always clean, and there's no guessing exactly where the cut will be made. There are even three other blades to cut different shaped edges. If I were to complain about anything, it would be the very sparse instruction, but the device is so easy to use, it's really all that is necessary.

Terrific, reliable and affordable, Dahii 507 personal Rolling
This is an amazing paper cutter! It is extremely well made and has substance, makes CLEAN cuts and doesn’t need any pressure to aid in cutting several pieces of paper at once. My artwork doesn’t move when in use and is precise and very easy to use. I have a professional paper cutter and I prefer to use this one , especially on smaller projects. I love this cutter and can’t say enough good things about it. Oh, it’s light enough to take anywhere! What more can you ask for??? Very affordable too. Great product! Laurel S.

Ideal Paper trimmer
I have been scrapbooking and making cards for decades and I have always bought Fiskars paper trimmers. I trusted the name brand and honestly, did not do much research into a quality trimmer. I went through dozens and dozens of replacement blades. Ugh! Where has this Dahle paper trimmer been all my life! hahaha Pros: It is made with quality materials It does not shift or move when you are using it Has self sharpening blade Makes accurate cuts, easy to make adjustments to cuts made with microscopic shavings taken off...this is awesome The clear guide keeps paper in place The pre-printed guides make sure you have the paper lined up properly Crisp cuts..no fuzzy edges or torn paper Con: The only con I see is that it does not do partial paper cuts...since you cannot physically see the blade cutting. So very happy with this purchase! I will be recommending this brand to all my fellow crafters!

Nice paper cutter, would like more markings for precision cut
I researched a while to get a better paper cutter than I had without spending a whole lot of money or one that would take up precious space. This one seemed to fit the bill. I also like that the blade is self sharpening! It has a solid feel to it when cutting paper. However, I find that the paper bed is a little slick and the paper often moves, you really have to hold it in place well to get a straight cut. The markings aren't what I was expecting. I often cut paper pieces that are not a pre-marked card size. In that regard I have to measure elsewhere and then put it in the cutter. Was hoping for markings that would enable me to do it all in one step.

Excellent for trimming film
I had struggled with my guillotine-style paper cutters for the task of trimming down photographic sheet film. (8x10 down to 4X10 and 5X7; 5x7 down to 2.25 x 3.25.) The film would bow upward in the dark and I'd ruin some film. This does a great job, as the plastic guide moves down during the cut and holds it flat. The cut is very neat and precise. The scale on the bed is a little off, but I put a fence in the right place on the left hand side and get precise cuts. For a fence I use two thicknesses of file folder material, one on top of the other, held down by magnets. It seems very well made.

Nice. But mine came with a cracked ruler
Nice. But mine came with a cracked ruler...making it hard to line up the paper to cut without fearing that your thumb will be cut off. 20-28pund parper, no issues with being cut. However, there is a bit of a struggle with cardstock. Will be returning due to the fact that it was broken upon arrival.

I am a paper crafter and I have spent a lot of money on paper trimmers over the years. The ones with the sliding blades are so useless. The replacement blades are expensive and they never cut cleanly. This Dahle 507 cutter is fabulous! A clean, precise cut every single time! I highly recommend this brand! When I finally get a crafting room, I will also invest in the larger size because this trimmer is with me to stay!

Fazit:angemessenes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis,saubere Verarbeitung Made in Germany-für nicht-professionelle Benutzung gut geeignet.

This item turned up with the 'Automatic guard/item holder' half uninstalled but it wasn't too hard to resolve. There are 3 reasons why this isn't worth getting. 1) The 'automatic clamp' is opaque exactly where you don't want it to be so it is very hard to see right where your cut will be made. 2) The 'automatic clamp' is so small that you cannot assist it to hold whatever you are cutting in place as the cutting piece that you move laterally covers it completely this wouldn't be an issue if: 3) The 'automatic clamp' is so thin and poorly made that it regularly allows item to slip, resulting in a skewed cut. It doesn't clamp smaller items very well if at all.

Perfect for my card making. Cuts straight. Can’t cut too many papers at once if you want the cuts to be straight though and also it’s too hard to move then.
