The 3 grates are slightly smaller than the original. Coating in grainy NOT smooth. Thickness and weight are less that original. Seem to be less rust resistant.

My original grates perished in a tragic grease fire -- the enamel cracked and started to come off. I bought these in hopes they'd last at least as long as the rest of the grill, which is showing its age.When I got these, the enamel coating seemed much thinner than on the original grates, and there were places where I wasn't sure it covered the underlying metal. But I tried them out in my usual heavy-handed way, turning the food with metal utensils, and running the grates through the dishwasher (yikes!) to clean them.They are SUPERIOR IN EVERY WAY to the original. They come clean more easily, food doesn't stick to them as badly, and they're showing zero rust so far, even after the mistreatment I've given them.Five stars all around. These were the best kind of surprise.
