Great for homeschooling or review
Got this for my homeschooler and we love it. We have a bunch of Spectrum workbooks. They’re pretty reliable. The content is at the right level for a 3rd/4th grader. There is always a map activity next to whatever geography lesson they’re studying. My homeschooler is getting better with maps because of this book. Helpful (especially because her teacher isn’t that great with geography.)

Excellent for home learning
We have been using Spectrum Series workbooks for homeschooling for the past three years. We have covered 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade with them between three children. These workbooks will make homeschooling MUCH easier for both you and your child. The lessons are very self-learning patterned, with examples given on how to do the work and each book generally has links to videos that help as well, making it a breeze if you have an internet connection, too. If you are not internet-ready, don't worry. The examples given in each lesson really do show how to properly do the work.If your child attends standard school, the workbooks are a great supplement as well, though I would speak to their teacher to ensure that the material covered in the workbook is going to fit into their curriculum. To be honest, my kids are ahead of their peers, because these workbooks are reminiscent of curriculums from the 90s, which were much more intensive than they are now. I consider that to be a good thing. Some teachers, however, may not.

Mainly good
We’re a few chapters in and so far so good. I was disappointed in the lesson that for all intents and purposes advocates removing dams. There are many nuances in the issue of dams, including the vital role they play in irrigation and water supply, which were not discussed — that’s a major oversight. Dam removal is a political topic and shouldn’t be an agenda item for a geography instruction book. We simply skipped over that chapter. The next chapter, deciphering a map of troop movements in the Battle of Long Island (Revolutionary War) was delightful. This book offers appropriately thorough instruction and review.

Nicely Laid Out
Love the layout. Perforated pages so i can put them into sheet protectors and reuse with my younger kid. I like that its a little more detailed than the other workbook that i got. Gives my kids a little extra practice since we're using this and 180 days workbook for geography.

Great book
I am a homeschool mom to a fourth grader. I have all the spectrum books. Some I hardly use because the content doesn't go with the grade. This geography book is really great though. It's spread into small sections and it is thorough in explanations.
