Well, what else can I say? Perfect fit for 2004 R1150RT. It looked clean and solid and works way better than my OEM - and probably original (14 year old) - starter did. No complaints. Started my bike a few hundred times since I put it in over the past winter. Never failed to 'pop out' the gear, which is how my old one started going bad.PS - make ABSOLUTELY SURE you get the alignment pin into the new starter. In my case, it was stuck in the engine casing, but it may be stuck to your old starter. I'll see if I can dig up a photo of that later. Or, look up Chris Harris' latest YT video.

Get these emails all the time to review this or review that and like to make sure I am really writing on what I should be. If your asking me to review the new starter for my R1200CLC them so far so good. All the mounting holes lined up correctly and it had plenty of power to turn it over and start the bike. If you want to wait another 9 years or so to see if the thin armature cover held up to repeated us or not, just check back. Nine years on a first go and the fail was really a minor part issue that I could have rigged in the field could be alot worse. Just sayin! Old school stuff is hard to beat!

It worked, just installed on 7/17 on a 2004 R1150R. Only thing I had to do was open up the alignment pin hole a little bit as it was too tight. Hope to get a few years out of it. We will see. The OEM only got 47k out of it. My 1996 1100RT still has the OEM with around 95k. Its hit or miss, I guess.

I researched several different starter sources on the Internet before buying this starter from Discount Starter and Alternator through Amazon. So far so good, I have a 1150 GS so this job took all of about 30 minutes. Fired right up, no problems at all. Cranked it over about 10 times to test it, no problems, sounds great and its all ready for the Monday morning commute. This has got to be better than the Valeo starter I am replacing it with, what a piece of junk that was...Great Job by Discount Starter. Shipping was super fast!

Delivery was prompt. Works well. Some have complained about the difference in sound. To me it sounds a bit like an old aircraft engine starting. Which way back when there was a correlation. Exact fit was a slight issue but it worked out in the end.
