You can do it
Absolutely amazing. My furnace stopped blowing out hot heat and I had thought it was the flame sensor but wanted an initial assessment. I was quoted ~$350 to have this piece replaced. Absolutely not, so to Amazon I went! This piece was clean and works great! Packaging and instructions helped me install.

2024 Flame Sensor for Goodman Gas Furnace
Worked perfectly for Goodman.Typically, if the Furnace turns on then off within a few seconds after flame up it usually means the flame sensor is not proving flame detection.You can remove the sensor and very lightly sans with a Brillo pad of super find sand paper. Being careful to not scratch the probe too much.But, to have an extra new sensor in your bag of tricks will give you peace of mind in case it’s the middle of winter at -17° below zero.And the cleaning trick doesn’t work, you’ll have a backup plan!

Fit ok. Had to bend the sensor so it matched the original angle on the one I replaced. Installed a few weeks a go. so far so good.

Super easy and under $10
Took under a minute to pop a new one in. No more removing the dirty sensor and cleaning it by hand every 6 months, I read that's not good. Can't risk it this winter. Install was so simple and the furnace kicked right on when I turned the heat back on so I know I did it right. Wish I knew about these years ago and that you don't need a pro and $500 to fix it.

It works and is much less costly than having a serviceman do the work.
It works and you can't beat the price. On my Amana it is hard to reach the screw that holds it in place, but that's not the sensor's fault. Replacing this is best done with the proper-sized wrench. It's a very small wrench - perhaps 1/4 inch or less. This costs a little north of $6.00, including sales tax. The OEM list price is north of $20.00, plus sales tax. I'm sure that a serviceman will charge at least $90.00 for his time and you can expect that he will waste time by troubleshooting even if not needed.
