I had been shopping around for a fireplace screen for about a month...this one was BY FAR the cheapest, but still had the MCM look I was searching for. My first choice screen was West Elm, but for $199, hard pass. Even on Wayfair and Overstock, they are well over $100. At $47 and change, this is exactly what I wanted. Sturdy enough and looks perfect. Bonus that the feet fit right inside the fire box, so the screen can be flush against the masonry. While it is a matte finish, it's not as bright gold as the listing shows. It's just a shade to the bronze side, which is fine with me. Love it!

The product arrived damaged beyond repair. My first review describing my experience was “not approved” by Amazon though it it no way violated their “community standards”. This review is likely to be denied as well. Best Choice Products expects me to package the damaged item and return it to them before they will address my dissatisfaction, even though I sent them several pictures of the damaged item. This is a true representation of my experience with Amazon and Best Choice Products.

Looks so nice and updated our fireplace nicely without spending a lot. It is more of a distressed gold than I was expecting, but I think I like it more that way- it’s isn’t as bold and blends in more. I measured to make sure it would cover well and I am happy with the way it turned out.Only con: it’s not very sturdy-kids could pull it over or knock if over if they tried to pull up on it.

This is one of my favorite items at the moment. It’s gorgeous, sturdy and fits my environment perfectly.

I ordered the golden/brass colored screen. Clearly the company took a black screen and spray painted the front of it a golden color and distressed it. The back is not finished and looks terrible. The back is still pretty much black with splotches of the gold that over sprayed to the back when they painted it. I guess if you consider that you’ll never really see the back it’s not a big deal. But, when you look at the screen from the front side at different angles you can see a lot of the bare black areas that didn’t get sprayed. Initially it looks fairly pretty, but after its sat in my living room for a week I notice all of the imperfections and it looks tacky to me now. Thinking about returning. Not too surprised, you get what you pay for.

The media could not be loaded.  The first thing I did when I came across this screen was do what any smart shopper would do-read the reviews. I went ahead and ordered this screen with a clear understanding that the gold coloring would be distressed, matte and not overly bright. I was okay with that. But what I got is far more orange/ bronze that what the reviews, or my photos, will lead you to believe. It is absolutely more orange than gold. There is also a ton of distressing. So much so that it looks like the screen has spent lots of time shielding a roaring fire. There are swaths of black on the mesh that make it look tinged or smoked with wear. If you’re looking for a rustic look, this is totally the screen for you. If you’re looking for something more MCM or modern, you’ll likely need to repaint it. At least with the gold option. Black may be great. Considering the disparity between the photos and what you’ll receive, I believe this screen is overpriced. If I saw this at Home Goods or AtHome, I wouldn’t pay a cent over $40. I gambled and lost, but I’ll try to repaint it and save it because the box it came in was covered in mold on one side. You couldn’t pay me enough to touch it again. P.S. it also came with a dent in the foot thanks to lack of protective packaging.

The product is wobbly and looks like it was painted with the last bit of gold spray paint in the can.

For $60, I expected this fireplace screen to really be flimsy considering the other nice looking ones are much more expensive.The biggest disappointment is that the feet that came with the screen are uneven, so the screen wobbles back and forth. I tried bending it but since it’s welded, it doesn’t look like it’ll be possible. Pretty disappointed about this. Probably would’ve been perfect otherwise.
