Not a beginner herb!

I planted nearly the whole packet in about 3-4 different ways using sandy soil: Indoors in pods with a heating pad, outdoors in pods, in a large pot, and on a wet paper towel in a plastic bag.The paper towel method has seen some sprouts, and I set that up 3 days ago. As of this morning, I've counted 4 sprouts on the paper towel. I won't see anything in the soil for a while. But I figured I'd make sure people know that these seeds are indeed viable; it's just difficult to convince white sage to start growing. Do lots of research and you should be good to go.

Tricky to start, but worth the wait!

I waited to write a review because it took some time to figure these out. I spent months trying to get them to germinate with no luck. Last ditch effort was soaking them overnight in a cup of water before sowing in my Click & Grow, and...SUCCESS!!The plants grew very slowly in the beginning, and it took almost 6 months in the Click & Grow before I felt comfortable transplanting to my yard. I figured since I live in the Phoenix desert (Zone 9b) it would be happy in full sun, and boy was I right! My white sage plant has been outside 2 years now, and I leave it be until it's time to harvest in the spring (April-May). It gets a little unwieldy by harvest time if you don't trim it back, as pictured, but I prefer leaving it until it's filled out before cutting. Final picture is about half the bundles I made from this year's harvest. The plant smells amazing and does well on the drip system with the rest of my plants. Not sure how it would do in other climates, but Arizona desert doesn't seem to be much different than it's native California one. So be patient and willing to try the seeds a couple different ways. They are tricky to get started, but once you find out what works, you won't be disappointed!

Not too bad for sage

Sage is notorious for being hard to germinate. Most of it didn’t but some of it germinated pretty well and is in seedling stage right now looking pretty good.

It’s an unfortunate story

They all died, but I have more to try again next year

LOTS of PLANTS from these seeds

Almost all of the seeds sprouted and most of those have survived up to this point and they are about 4-6 inches tall. I starting indoors in a cactus potting mix and used a full spectrum growing light set for 10 hours a day. Started the end of December and they are ready to be transplanted to bigger containers and wait for outside temps to warm up. It is the beginning of March with 4-6" plants. When germinating, and up till they were about 3 inches, I very carefully used a spray bottle to keep the soil/seeds moist. In the beginning I sprayed the soil, lightly, 2x day. I started with around 40 seeds (wanted to keep a few for later) and ended up with about 34 plants that are now ready to be transplanted into the ground (frost season is gone here) or pots. It's been about 65 days and I have so many plants. I have purchased other brands with a very low ratio of plants (maybe 5%) but THESE ARE GREAT (about an 85% )! They smell lovely and are thriving.
