I like the smell and helpfulness of using this pre-conditioner. I smooth it in my hair, particularly on my hair along the hairline, and where my scrunchie goes, just before putting my cap on and swimming laps. When I go to wash out my hair after swimming, it is soft and not stripped of natural oils like it is when swimming without a pre-conditioner. It also seems to help my cap last longer. (I use a fabric-type cap with water resistant coating on the outside.)With that said, it is not great if I leave it in my hair longer than a few minutes before swimming. I have had a couple of instances where I couldn’t swim when I had planned and it dried in my hair and made it feel brittle and more breakable until I could rinse it out. It works great if you swim and then rinse off right away. Don’t let it fully dry in your hair if at all possible before swimming/rinsing off. If you do, don’t comb or brush your hair until you rinse it off. (I suspect this would be the case with most conditioners, honestly.) This is my second bottle—it is worth the money. It really helps protect my hair when swimming and I will keep using it.

I absolutely love this product! It’s been a total game changer in keeping my hair soft in the pool. I’m in the pool 5 days a week for 3-5 hour shifts and I always put this in before I get in the pool. immediately when your hair gets wet it detangles and becomes soft. At the end of my shift I wash it out with shampoo (not necessary) and put a hair mask on my hair. With all of that together my hair is able to stay relatively healthy while in the pool. On days I don’t use this product my hair often gets tangled and feels very dry in the water, this makes sure your hair stays protected inside the water and keeps it soft after rinsing it out. I don’t know what I’d do without this!!!

I used a little bottle and then bought the huge bottle. Yes, it works well, but I do have the feeling that coconut oil might be just as good, or even a cheap hair conditioner. I'll need to test out my theory. We'll come back and write more afterward. Definitely helps your hair when you swim. Afterward, it rinses out well and leaves your hair soft. It even returned some wave and curl to mine. So fun to use, just not sure of the price point okay.

I have bleached blonde highlights in my hair and I love to swim which is normally an issue. I've been using this product for a few years now and I highly recommend it. It has a nice almond smell and has prevented my hair from getting the green tint that happens to blonde hair when it reacts with the chlorine in the water. My hair is very soft after swimming but I would recommend wearing a swim hat when you have this on your hair.

I have been a swimmer all my life and I can't believe I never heard of this before. My hair was always dry and frizzy from the chlorine, since I started using this it has improved so much, my curl pattern is stronger and more defined and my hair is no where near as dry. I just put this on my dry hair, put on my swim cap and jump in. game changer!

I’ve used the product before and I know it works great, I was just disappointed it arrived damaged and leaking. Not worth trying to return.

During the summer both my daughter and myself nearly live in the pool. Anyone with blonde or chemically treated hair knows the damage chlorine can cause. Our hair becomes dried and brittle and even develops a green tinge. Before jumping in the pool, we wet our hair with cold water, squeezing out excess water, and place Aqua Guard Pre Swim throughout our hair. We wait at least five minutes before entering the pool. After exiting the pool, we rinse our hair thoroughly. Neither myself nor daughter have had to worry about damaged hair this summer. Our hair has remained soft, shiny, and healthy all summer long!!!

This stuff is full of chemicals! The one time I used it, I wetted my hair first and then applied this product. It was so lugubrious that my swim cap kept slipping off. And they suggest you just let it go into the pool! After it dripped down into my eyes during my swim, they were stinging and red for a couple of days. Fortunately, Amazon was willing to let me return it. This product has not yet been rated by EWG, but here is the list of ingredients.
