Great Taste and Fragrance
My wife and I have at least one hobby in common and that is that we both love to cook. When making Asian dishes she usually does most the heavy lifting including sourcing ingredients. She picked this one after trying a couple of others just to see the difference. There were no "bad" ones, but this one seems to have a bit more depth of flavor. Maybe their toasting method is different or something. We have used it in several dishes, including in some non-Asian ones just to experiment a bit and it proved very versatile. It has a smoke point of about 410ยบ so it is relatively on the higher end and good for frying and sautรฉing, although I wouldn't use it in the place of Avocado oil, Safflower oil or Canola oil for things like searing. It has a goofy lid mechanism that takes some getting used to and I'm not sure why a regular screw on cap couldn't be used, but the other ones we tried were the same, so I guess it must be a thing in Japan. Also, I found it amusing that the can featured in the product photographs is all dented up and ours is too. It doesn't affect anything, but I got a chuckle out of it.

Sleeper Sesame oil hit
Shirakiku is a great old-school Japanese brand of sesame oil, and is every bit as good as the bigger names from Japan and Korea. I will say, if Shirakiku had the Ottogi brand spout (which is a work of genius) then I would love it even more, but as it is, it's still wonderful and usually the cheapest bulk roasted Sesame oil. I find Kadoya, Ottogi, and Shirakiku (the BIG 3) are all quality oils, but each has a somewhat unique flavor due to their individual processing. Shirakiku to me has the freshest flavor (though I don't believe it's actually fresher than the other two) and it has almost a greener, more peanut buttery flavor than the others, which lends itself very well to almost any recipe. Sesame oil is the only oil I use anymore. Pro tip-the cap is easier to remove than you think, just look for the flat metal circle and unflatten it, pull up, and when you pour, the flat plastic piece around the neck should be lined up in the direction that you pour the oil and is meant to direct the oil flow into whatever you are pouring it in. I've seen so many people tear it off and then complain about how hard this oil is to pour, when it's 100% user error. Enjoy!

Almost impossible to reseal once opened
The oil has a fantastic roasted sesame taste. My only issue is the cap which is difficult to open and almost impossible to close and reseal. I don't understand why they would use a cap that is so user unfriendly.

Delicious! This is how to open
1. Use a tool to open the ring from the opposite side of the red arrow.2. The ring and the circle will come off.3. Press hard on the center of the cap. It will release.4. Now you can use the plastic funnel to pour from.I pour some into a mason jar and then reseal the jug with the round piece released from direction 3. Enjoy!

Great quality and price
Great find. 100% sesame oil. Very good quality and taste. Only downside you have to watch the spill from the round pour. A plastic piece comes with it but does not help. I had to pour into a bottle to be able to reduce spill. But this is almost all sesame seed oil brands in a large can.

Tastes a bit burnt, not nutty or tasty
Beware, though I don't see it stated on Amazon's description: this is toasted, fairly dark brown sesame oil, meant for seasoning, not for high temperature frying.I'm perplexed that this toasted sesame oil got good reviews, because to us, it tastes a bit burnt, not nutty. Not flavorful or interesting. My wife is Chinese, & we use toasted sesame oil often. We much prefer Kadoya & LaTourangelle toasted sesame oils. We're pretty disappointed & won't buy Shirakiku again.
