Z-axis control not correct
The vender recommended control software GRBL does not control the Z axis correctly. The Z up control moves the spindle motor down and the Z down control moves it up. The machine is unusable due to this problem. I note that all 3 axis stepper motors are wired identically and it appears that the X and Y axes work as expected in response to the manual controls; only the Z axis is a problem. This problem is also apparent when running the sample cases included with the software. The on screen simulation is correct but every time it shows the tool retracted the spindle motor on the CNC Mill goes down rather than up.

Should come bare bones with one MAJOR flaw
Very nice chassis for the price, very rigid. good start for a budget router with a few flaws that can be fixed by upgrading and one that pretty much ruins the whole thing and cant easily be fixed or upgraded.Lets start with the biggest issue. It can ONLY hold a 42mm motor. Insanly frustrating because you have this super ridgid frame which if youre even looking at this one its to mill metals. That is the only reason you could want this over the other larger routers that are cheaper and cut plastics and wood just fine. There is one 42mm motor out of china thats redily availible in the US under a couple different brand names which is way to weak to mill soft metals, and the only larger, more rugged 42mm in existance you will have to order of alibaba straight from china. (I'm waiting on mine but that might even suck)***FOR THE LOVE OF GOD BENBOX MAKE IT FIT A 52mm****you cant even elargen the hole to fit one because the 42mm barely clears the Z stepperreally sad that this is so close to being a great machine but that flaw makes it dead in the water.I would pay this price without a motor solong as i could buy a good motor for it.Alright so lets say you look past that initial flaw because your nuts and still decided to buy.heres the few things that are easy but should be upgraded.first, they use of 2 lead screw nuts married by long M3 screws that do a terrible job at eliminating backlash.the play in the screws allows the 2nd nut to turn with the lead screw slightly before engaging.i highly recommend upgrading these to the slotted style pair. Also its a weird pitch T8 2mm pitch 4mm lead so be caureful when orderingSecond, the use of the m5x16mm screws for parts of the frame do not have adequate thread engagement IMO and will tighten after about 2 turns. wish they just used more m5x20mm the 16mm are only useful for the rods which are countersunk into the bracketsthe electronics stink as expected but should do the job. havent really been able to test because it can mill worth a damn out of the gate.Sad because this is SO close to being a good rig.

Great Support
I wrote an initial review and gave it 2 stars. After contacting the supplier I am giving it 4 stars. L-Star provided great follow-up support via email. My issue was related to the software driver provided on the CD. It could not install the driver properly and I wanted to make sure I could get the drivers before I started assembling the CNC. I have a Windows 10 and Windows 7 PC and the driver (CH340SER) would not load on either. My conclusion is the CD was not created properly and was the root cause. After contacting L-Star, they provided the Driver and step-by-step instructions on how to load the driver for a Windows 10 PC. The assembly instructions are not very detailed and you have to use the YouTube link provided, which shows about 90% of the assembly where you can follow it, and if you are mechanically inclined you should be able to figure out the missing steps. Some of the bags of screws are labeled, but most are not, which makes it a little frustrating, but once you figure out which screw is which you can follow along in the video. The video does identify each screw used, which is huge PLUS. I would have given it 5 stars if the software worked from the start and if the screw bags were labeled. With those two issues I give it a 4 to 4.5 star rating. I would suggest L-Star spend a little more time and provide better documentation as well as a link to the GRBLControl software user manual so you learn how to make your own custom designs. Overall, its pretty solid and I expect it will perform well. i will provide an update in a couple of months.

Missing components
It seems like a good machine and it's pretty straight forward to assemble, however the M5x20 screws were not included and the machine is entirely reliant on these screws.

Inconforme
No me agrada que estas piezas hayan llegado oxidadas y desgastadas, parecen usadas. Por otro lado, no hemos podido instalar el driver, estamos a la espera de asesorĂa.
