So far, this plate operates as intended. It gets very hot on high, and the variable temperature operates correctly.As all it does is heat up, there isn’t much to test other than safety, accuracy, and longevity. So far the first two meets expectations. As for longevity, I haven’t owned or operated it enough to give proper feedback on it. If there are no negative reviews from other users, I’d say go with it.

I used this heating plate to warm a Pixel 3 smartphone to soften the rear cover adhesive so the rear cover could be carefully removed using a small suction cup and thin metal strip tool. This heating plate uses a dial adjustment (i.e., analog rheostat) to set temperature and keep cost low (compared to models with on-board digital readouts). I measured plate temperature using a Fluke infrared temperature gun. The surface temperature came up to target in 2- 3 minutes, matching the dial setting, and was very stable. The unit comes with a silicone rubber pad which protects the smartphone during heating. After keeping the smartphone on the silicone-covered plate for 5 minutes at 80C I was able to gently pull the cover up and use a thin metal strip tool to run around the perimeter of the phone body to separate and remove the rear cover.

I love this plate. Works great and has not even failed.I almost spent more for digital display. I found setting the temperature once and never looked at that again. Very happy with this purchase. I recommend this to all.

I'm in love. Wonderful little machine. Heats up easily and quickly. I hate I waited this long to purchase one. Perfect size for the phones I repair. Hopefully this little guy sticks with me for a while. Thank you!

The media could not be loaded. Bought this unit to disassemble my wife’s IPhone and replace the battery. It was shockingly simple. Once the assemble adhesive is at the right temperature, the phone opens right up like a book. Seems to be a well made device, thermostat control works well, solid metal construction, and the silicone pad heated the phone evenly. Plan on using this in the future for reworking solder joints. All in all 10/10 price, quality, and delivery.

Used one time. Used a second time a few weeks later and product would not turn on. Fuse is fine. Product simply doesn't work. Owned less than 2 months. Do not buy this.

Mine did not work out of the box, likely a broken wire or bad fuse. The fuse is not the best quality but will get the job done.
