Great leash! Although I prefer the Mighty Paw 4-foot leash over the 3-foot leash.
Initially I wasn't thrilled about this leash. I bought it because I run 5k races with my 65lb dog and wanted something hands free. This leash is 36-inches, which gives your dog enough room to run BY YOUR SIDE. If you like your dog to run in front of you then you'll find this leash to be too short, as I have and was constantly kicking the back of my dogs paws until he ran by my side. However,I find this leash is GREAT for walks. Mighty Paw does make a 48-inch version which I'm absolutely in love with! It's just long enough to run with your dog in front of you without accidentally kicking them. I did originally by an extender for the 3-foot leash, but find that the extra metal clip really weighs it down. From here on I'll review both leashes since I already mentioned the only difference. At first I thought the waist strap/belt would be uncomfortably, but I find it to be comfortable when running and very easy to adjust. It has a plastic quick release buckle (great safety feature!) and 2 metal loops, one sewn in near the buckle, then other you can adjust to place anywhere on the belt by sliding it. This is an excellent feature because you can take your dog off-leash and clip the extra end to the second loop. That way you can walk around with the leash hanging at your side and still remain hands free! This works great for trail running and still works well with the 4-foot leash even though it is slightly longer. The leash part itself has 2 metal clip ends which makes it very versatile. One end has bungee all the way down to the clip, the other end has a ~10 inch section of flat doubled leash so when you stop at a road or people are passing, you can reach down and use it as a handle to keep your dog really close to your side. Another function I love! This way I don't have a dog pulling me by bungee to greet people or other dogs. The bungee is protected by an outer layer that has reflective stitching throughout. At first glance it looks dull, but light reflects off it very well. The bungee is VERY STRONG. it has just enough give so if your dog takes off after a squirrel it won't snap like a regular leash, instead it will offer enough resistance to protect you and slow your dog down. My dog's first experience he found he could grab the leash in his mouth, jump off to the side really hard then let the bungee bounce him back into me. He played yo-yo like this for a good 15 mins, I was laughing so hard I couldn't stand! Again my dog is 65lbs, so yes it's a strong bungee and doesn't have any signs of being out-stretched.Bottom line: Mighty Paw made an awesome leash! If you like your dog by your side, buy the 3-foot. If you like him running ahead of you, wait until the 4-foot leash is on sale (I think at the end of this month?).

Overall a great product
Put my first 6 miles in with this and my lab this morning. She’s extremely well trained, stays right beside me, and doesn’t pull. So I’m fortunate and don’t need to worry about that. But, she usually decides to “get her business done” around a mile into the run. And when she does, she stops quick. The elastic helped immensely with that. I didn’t stop fast enough but it was not a big deal. The elastic stretched, I stopped, took a few steps back and all was good. I was worried about it bouncing into my leg while running and the waist band bouncing around as well. The waist band did move side to side slightly, but that was a non issue, and did not bounce up and down at all. I had it “loosely taught” around my waist under my shirt and it worked great. The leash also hit my leg occasionally but I also found that it really was not a big deal. A bit of advice, don’t clip the buckle the wrong way around. It’s very hard to get back out. I have a 4 year old to thank for that. One improvement I believe that could be made (which is the only reason I gave 4 stars and not 5) would be to switch to a Velcro tightening system instead of the buckle system they have now. This would possibly epilate a bit of weight and ensure that the belt stays the exact size you want it while you are running. It was not a big issue, but the belt did loosen up slightly while I was running. Other than that, I was extremely happy with this and would absolutely recommend it to anyone who has a 4 legged friend as a running partner.

Lifesaver for pullers!
This leash was literally a lifesaver. I have 2 huskies. One is 6 so he’s older and has calmed down a lot. Walking with him now is super easy. But we recently adopted an almost 2 year old husky and he definitely has not grown out of his pulling stage. Walking both of them at the same time used to be a nightmare even with a dual leash my poor older dog was getting dragged around. I then tried to wrap a regular leash around my waist and attach it to my younger husky.. and halfway into the walk I would be super annoyed and my waist was sore from being constantly squeezed from the pulling. But I’ve now gone on 3 walks with this leash and it’s great because the waist attachment allows me to have my hands free to hold a regular leash for my other dog and give me more control with my younger one. He still tries to pull but the bungee pulls him back and he’s realized that pulling isn’t going to get him anywhere and he doesn’t knock me off balance. It doesn’t 100% get rid of the pulling because if he sees a dog and I’m not ready he can still catch me off guard and pull hard. But if I see it ahead of time then the handle at the bottom becomes very useful to pull him closer before he is able to pull. The only thing I’m not sure of is how long the bungee will last with the constant pulling, but I would honestly buy it over and over again if I had to!

Quality Product Made Well Very Happy!! 💝
Love this product, streamline look... made with good weight not flimsy as many out there. I also love the little instruction booklet tag, very nice touch and wish many other companies focus on fine details as Mighty Paws Brand I have sent many back and they were cheaply made. This leash was priced very well for the money it should be alot more for how it was made.Thank you Mighty Paw, my Bulldog loves his leash... 👍😇🐶💝

This lead has made running so much easier!
This has helped me and my lovely lab Bessie to enjoy running together without the hassle of carrying anything at all in my hands - it keeps her safe while running on the road before I can let her off the lead. There is a place to attach my treat bag and poo bags. There’s enough give in the lead to allow her to run freely without any jolts felt by either of us. Love this lead!

Good until the catch snapped
Fitted well and elastic was excellent.Unfortunatle while walking the harness clip snapped, there was no undue pressure and the sog was at my side i only noticed when tying my shoe lace and the dog trotted on.This could have been a lot worse had it have been in an area of high traffic!Disappointed .

Perfect
Having used this for sometime now, I can honestly say it’s the best lead I have. When walking, you have utter control and ease of knowing your dog will stop immediately when you stop. The bungee lead is perfect. More control over walks.

Too short
Too short to use around waist. OK as a long, bungee lead. Useful hooks.
