The first dispenser I purchased stopped working after just a few months. GE replaced the unit (after a month of working through their process) and now, less than a year later, the new one just stopped working. If you decide to purchase the unit, which is very nice looking, I would highly recommend purchasing a protection plan.

I have always wanted a water cooler. The more "well-off" friends I had while growing up, had a water cooler and a fridge in the garage just for drinks. I always thought this was the epitome of high society, and aspired to be just as cool. As an adult, it was a desire compelled by shear laziness and impatience. I am not wealthy by any means lol. My fiance has a rare water diabetes, and consumes more water than a buffalo, so this was "for her" for Christmas. But, unapologetically, it was was not a truly altruistic purchase. I'm too lazy to fill ice cube trays to have cool water, and hate waiting for the microwave to nuke water for my ramen. This provides both nicely. The hot water is perfect for my jail style noodles, and the water is cold without giving brain freeze. 10/10, I love this thing in my kitchen

Update! The rebate doesn’t include taxes so beware.. you guys are going to lose out on so much time and money. Waited to speak to customer relations for over an hour. THE LEAST THEY CAN DO IS GIVE A REBATE ON THE ORIGINAL AMOUNT I PURCHASED. ORIGINAL message: DO NOT BUY! This product is TERRIBLE. Upon first purchase there was an awful taste and yes we did wait the full 48 hours to start using it. If you have a smaller cup, the water splashes everywhere making a mess. The pump stopped working so I followed the steps needed to get a new machine. There were so many steps. You have to call the manufacturer and send a photo of the serial number IN YOUR HAND for your stuff to qualify. THEN you have to purchase a NEW MACHINE OUT OF YOUR OWN POCKET for a rebate! You also can’t purchase the new machine prior to starting the rebate process. Anyway the whole process in total takes about 8 WEEKS. With inflation and everything else going up I don’t have money to purchase a new machine. So UPSETTING. GE THIS IS TERRIBLE. We have used your products for so many years only you have this type of return policy. Guys DO NOT BUY THIS. If I could I would give 0 stars. So much headache. Making the process so complicated only in hopes people don’t follow through… there is also a time limit on to purchase the machine before the rebate expires. Go with another brand!

The first time I saw this product it had all the things we needed. Needless to say it last 2 months before it leaked all over our hardwood floor and stopped working. We called got same replacement hoping it would work. Nope 2nd time broke down within 2 weeks we even had a warranty that didn’t help it’s been a nightmare finally we got our 2nd refund. Please don’t buy this product it’s horrible doesn’t work very disappointing had to rate one star to put a review I wouldn’t have even gave it 1 star

UPDATE: We're now on a replacement unit and this one lasted all of 2 months before the hot water dispenser stopped dispensing water (of any temperature). Took 1 month for the heater to sound like a jet engine. Cold water and room temperature dispensers still work, but the nozzle tends to spray water everywhere for a moment just when either button is released. Replacing this with something else since it's obviously not a reliable product. Changed rating from 4 stars to 2 stars.ORIGINAL REVIEW: I bought this water dispenser because I wanted a unit that allowed me to load the water bottle at the bottom instead of trying to lift 50 lbs into a top loader. The pump and siphon work well, but there's always a small amount of water left in the bottom of the bottle after the unit takes all it can. Top loaders don't have this problem, and I suspect it's just a normal side-effect of bottom loading. So no star deduction for that, even though it's a little disappointing.I also wanted a dispenser with enough room under the nozzle to fill a tall thermos without having to hold it at an angle. This may be the second-best feature of this unit for me, that I can place my tall thermos flat under the nozzle and not have to hold it as it fills.Third, I wanted a quiet dispenser that wouldn't disturb me. Unfortunately, while the cooling function doesn't make much noise, the heating function is like a jet engine (and comes on frequently). So be warned! That's part of why I deducted one star.I also deducted that one star because the dispenser nozzle tends to drip extra water after the button is released. So instead of the water stream cutting off immediately upon release of the dispenser button, it continues to dribble for 1-2 seconds after. Not a big deal, but I had to train myself to not take away the thermos/glass too quickly after filling.I also deducted that one star because the plastic piece that covers the overflow tray didn't fit correctly. Somehow it was fabricated to the wrong specifications, so if I snap it in to place firmly, the bottom bottle door pops open and can't be closed all the way. This disrupts the unit from some functions (like siphoning water from the bottle) because some safety trip thinks the door adjar. My solution was to not install the plastic piece, so now the drip tray is fully visible and there's no completely flat surface on which to place my thermos, glass, or other container. But it still works sufficiently.I paid $260 for this dispenser, so I feel I received what I paid for. But I also realize there may be less-expensive top loaders that are much more quiet and use up all the water in a bottle.The good news is that the cold water is cold, the hot water is hot, the room-temperature water is exactly that, and I don't have to lift up heavy water bottles anymore. Overall, everything important works properly. It would be nice if the hot water heater wasn't so noisy, but I think I can live with that. (The water pump to siphon water out of the bottle also makes noise, but it only runs when you're dispensing water, so that doesn't bother me at all.)

First one I bought worked well for about a year, then crapped out. Spilled several gallons of water on my floor. Called to get a replacement & they said they would only give a "goodwill voucher" & that I had to buy a second one using my own money, then after a few months they would give my money back. Ordered a second one, and on the second 5 gallon I put in it, the pump is no longer drawing water. Going to return it and get my money back. Don't waste your time or resources giving this terrible product (from an even worse company) a shotUpdate. Fixed the second one temporarily, but it started leaking after a month. DONT BUY THIS, THINK OF YOUR FLOORS 😭

It fill my thermos work so fast instead feeling like you’re camping out waiting to fill your thermos
