Nepali Companion Notebook with Handmade Paper and Vegetable-Dyed Cover, Vintage 5.5x8.5 inch Composition Notebook for Office, School, and Home, Handcrafted in Nepal (Medium, Sage)

I was extremely excited to receive this journal, I went with the smaller version before I splurged on one of their higher-end journals, and I'm glad I did. Firstly the journal is not a light sage green, it is forest green. I was slightly disappointed by this but loved the feel of the cover. The paper is so soft and lovely to the touch but seems like it would tear/break if handled too roughly. The lokta paper inside is textured and thinner than I expected. I was planning to use it as a daily journal with my fountain pen. The cannot be written on both sides with a fountain pen, or any nice ballpoint/felt tip, because it bleeds through just barely too much. You could do it but it would look very muddy, which I don't like. The texture of the paper is nice but it means that some parts of the page are thinner than others, which is why the ink bleeds through.ALSO!!! My copy had been pierced to be bound twice (only affected the first 10 or so pages) and had a slight tear on the cover. This was all packaged well which means it was sent this way, not damaged by the shipping. I don't mind the imperfect product so I didn't return it but just so you all know.

It’s a nice journal but I wish it were thicker. I’ll have it filled in no time!

Lightweight, soft paper. I use as aSketchbook. Water media bleeds through a little bit, the softness of the paper makes me use media differently and keeps things fresh. I like it!

I love the look of this notebook. Very natural feel. I’ve put some stickers inside so far.

The book is very nice. I plan on using it as a guest sign in book for my wedding. I haven't written in it yet so I can not report on the pens or what that will be like.

Loved this!! It was very "vintage looking". Only caution, the paper is thin and marker will bleed. I used as a guest book and needed to buy gel pens so it wouldn't bleed.

Great quality, will buy again.
