I love this little mushroom house. It’s a nice size for my Betta fish with a large opening and inside space for her to swim around. She likes it very much.I took the advice of other reviewers and filled in the chimney and windows with Aquarium glue. It looked nicer before this but it’s worth it to keep my betta safe.

I would not recommend putting this into a fish tank AT ALL. The paint they used is soluble. I thought I had a bacteria bloom in my tank as the water turned white. As with other bacteria blooms I waited a bit, I tested the water and no issues like nitrates or ammonia. So I was looking in the water and then noticed that there was some orange peeking through the grey spotted paint on this mushroom house. I immediately pulled it out and even more paint came off all over my fingers.Long story short.... my betta lived, but all my shrimp died, and also one of my snails died. I also had to completely pull out all the substrate the filtration, etc. I have moved my betta and remaining snails to a new tank. If you want a cute decoration for your fish tank pick something else! I'm sure it would be fine in something that isn't water based.

The media could not be loaded. About the size of a softball, and does not float away with current. Air bubbles easily escape from the chimney hole- could be cute if you put an air hose inside leading out there. Has only one entrance for fish to go in. Feels fairly thick, and not cheap like some ornaments at local pet stores. I have a 75 gallon tank and this little hidey- house is small for the tank, but works perfectly for my electric blue crayfish. He has been hiding under the filter since he got too big for his driftwood cave, and this is the only thing so far that made him feel safe enough to move out of his filter corner when the other fish are out. I have searched for something like this for months, and finally found something under $10 that my “lobster” wouldn’t get stuck in but felt safe enough to hide in since it keeps the big fish out.

Update:I didn’t think the small windows would be an issue for my betta, but I was wrong!! He’s curious and explores a lot- I was away for two hours and he got stuck in the window and hurt himself 😭.Please don’t use this for bettas or any other fish that could get stuck in the smaller holes without modifying it. I will be modifying this and closing off the holes so he can’t get hurt again.— — —Original review:Great little hiding spot for my fish. This small house was cute and fit in the tank nicely. Our betta first was reluctant to try it out but soon decided to swim inside. This is where things went awry. The betta tried swimming out the window and got stuck. A quick boop on the nose and he was unstuck. He then tried and got stuck several more times until I finally had to snap the house to get him out of the window.It would be a 5* product if the windows were not there or had something to block the fish from attempting to swim through them.

Overall it seems like a great house I’m not sure for fish or bigger water guys, but for my smaller crayfish he loves it!! Wasn’t any weird smell, easy to put in there, haven’t had any issues overall

Just the right size for my two poison dart frogs! They loved it right away and immediately used it as a resting spot and hide. They like to play on top too! Great purchase that fitted my needs.
