This cartridge looks similar to the OEM Flushmate cartridge, but in reality it is not as high a quality and is not the same fit. The plastic is thinner than the OEM cartridge and it is put together loosely. I could never get it seated as required. By the time the cartridge stopped the water flow, it was too low to allow the flush mechanism to activate. I should have held it up next to the original one that I took out and it would have been evident. After fiddling with it for a couple of hours, and calling support a few times, I decided to drive an hour and a half to pick up a Flush Mate authentic cartridge. 10 minutes later it was installed and working. I would never try a compatible again. The quality control is not acceptable and the design is just different enough to make it not fit, at least in my toilet.

This part is the best quality. I recommend it. The fins are stronger for efficient removal and installation.

Got this in this afternoon after reviewing the how to on you tube it looked easy enough, WRONG, it took 30 minutes to get the old one out due to it being so hard to unscrew, but that is the good news. The new one was so hard to screw in that i broke two pairs of channel locks trying to get it to seat right so the water would stop running. It says stop screwing in when you can see the first thread, so i did and turned on the water waited for 2 minutes to make sure the tank would be full and started turning 1/8 turn at a time and stopping to see if the water would stop it never did and then guess what because it is so hard to turn it started breaking off the plastic pieces that you use to turn with the handle of channel locks, tried to get it out and that took about 1 1/2 hours because so tight it does not want to unscrew. I will never own another kohler commode again. Tomorrow i will call a plumber to come get this $900 commode and bring me a simple one. As far as i care it can go in the trash. It is NOT worth it.

Complete piece of junk. DId not fit in any way. The internal plunging mechanism didnt work properly. I installed it, it didnt fit, took it out, re-installed it, still didnt fit and it finally broke when i took it out the 2nd time. I ordered a genuine replacement part the same day, it was delivered the next day and installed with ZERO issues in about 5 minutes.DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY ON THIS JUNK.

Bought 2, figured I’d keep one on hand. One broke threading it into the hole and wouldn’t seal. Got the second one and it wouldn’t seal. The center part should plunge down and they don’t move. Ended up putting my old one back in and it sealed. I’ll still replace it but only with OEM. Save yourself the time and effort and don’t buy this one.

I forgot to read the reviews for this product and found out that it did not work. My son who is a contractor also could not get it to work. It is obviously a defective product. I purchased another cartridge from another vendor which had a 5 star rating. This apparently is an inferior Chinese knockout. I waited too long to install it and it is too late to return it.

While virtually identical in appearance to the original Flushmate units, when installed neither unit worked. The duckbill valves supplied were not the same as the original, so a known working original valve was tried with these replacement units and again these cartridge assemblies did not work. These have been returned and credit received, a small consolation for time and effort to install and reinstall both assemblies.Original Flushmate cartridges have since been sourced from a non-Amazon vendor. The purchase price was actually lower, and with the added shipping cost included, the total cost equaled the Prime cost.

This replacement cartridge worked worse than the already faulty cartridge I was replacing. Ended up buying the actual manufacturer's cartridge elsewhere and it worked perfectly.Avoid this product at all costs.
