Question 1

Would this work between a guitar and amp? I pinpointed the problem hum at the amp input through trial and error and don't know what else to do.

Accepted Answer

Although, I am not a guitarist, I believe that this unit will solve your problem. In researching this device before purchasing it, I read several guitarists testimonials, who also said that it worked for them. It certainly solved my problem of hum when I plugged my keyboard into my "amp input." Worst case scenario, you can return the unit to Amazon if doesn't solve your problem. I hope that this information helps and that EbTech Hum Eliminator solves your problems!

Question 2

My powered mixer, when powered up sends a buzz through the speakers.. If I was to connect this unit between the mixer & speakers would stop the buzz?

Accepted Answer

A better option for mixers and other U-ground devices is an Ebtech HumX. Plug it into the power source and connect the mixer's power plug to the HumX. If your speakers are also powered, use a HumX for each of their power cords. If it doesn't solve the hum problem, the cause is from something connected to mixer inputs or outputs. To find out which device is causing the problem, disconnect all devices from the mixer - except speakers - and see if the hum is gone. If it is, connect one device at a time to inputs and outputs until you hear hum. When you identify the problem device, use a HumX for it if it's an AC-powered device.

Question 3

Can you use this as a (1) mono- input to a (2) output stereo split??

Accepted Answer

Each channel is a straight pass-thru (with elimination of a ground fault hum stage as part of that pass-thru); so each channel is separate from the other with no ability to combine signals, hence no way to take a mono signal input and produce 2-channels (or your desired “stereo”) of output.

Question 4

Does this unit allow phantom power pass-through for use with a condenser mic?

Accepted Answer

This unit is useless. It does not do anything except adding noise.
