See my review under 8 pack. As above, I wouldn't hang a picture with the screws they give you. You need to buy ¼" hex head x 1½" to mount the brackets to a post and 5/16" x 1½" or 2"long lag screws to mount the brackets to the floor. These can be a little expensive in black. Still I love the brackets themselves.

If you own a ranch or homestead, you are pretty must forced to be a DIY'r, you are constantly building structures and out buildings, repairing existing things. These brackets are awesome. They can be used on different size lumber which is excellent. Because you never know what you will need to be fixing or replacing. Well made, strong and sturdy and best part is they are so easy to use.

These are nice little set of brackets I would not use them for heavy structural applications. For a mailbox, or something lighter like a stair rail these are perfect though. I do think if you used 4 per post they would be fine for a pergola, but I did not try using them in that case.materials wise they are thick enough as steel to be strong, 1/10th of an inch or 2.8 mm. The powder coating is thick and uniform. I have no doubt these will last years supporting my mailbox and making replacement if ever needed as easy as pulling out 6 screws from the 4x4.

These are built well. Thick enough design to be able to stabilize some deck posts I will soon be using as part of a suspension rope bridge to our nearby shed. These look and feel well-made and seem durable.

These did the job of shoring up a loose post. Not sure how long they will last & if they will last hurricane winds but they are well made & fit perfectly.
