This was a Christmas gift for my niece. She loved it. Good quality for a child, although the paint could have been a little better. It didn't sound like it made a huge mess. Easy to use gift!

We bought this for our niece and she really loved it. What was even better is when she put it together she enjoyed the entire process and loved it even more with her finished result. This is a fun craft/ bedroom decor idea to do with a female teen.

These turned out beautiful. We got them as a gift for a 10 year old girl.

The two children made theirs and I as a grandparent made these and it was so fun to do. The marbling and the colors were so pretty. It worked well and are keepers.

UPDATE: The clay we received was so crumbly that they all fell apart after making them. I've used polymer clay many times, and it has always had way more structural integrity. This had the opposite effect I wanted. Instead of an easy introduction to clay work for my kid, he put in a lot of work and had his projects crumble. That's the worst part of it. .... [So I thought this would be a fun thing for my 11-year-old to make for the women in our family. As others have said, it takes an adult hands-on throughout. Also, the instructions don't clearly say these two things: 1. It takes about 9 or 10 little packs of clay to make one luminary (and, just a tip, don't make the luminary as tall as the mold. not enough clay, make it half the size and then it might be thick enough to survive), and 2. Leave the luminary on the silicone mold to cook, mold side down so the luminary is up in the air. Without the mold to support the luminary, it collapses. This means you have to make them one at a time. Leave it on the mold to cool as it hardens. Then you can remove the mold easily. Bonus tip - keep your kids from folding the colors too much, or it turns into one yucky color with no variations. To the brand - you need a how-to video and better instructions if you are going to charge $24 for 3 (since as it is now, at least one will not make it through the process). Overall fun now that we know. The star cutter and LED candle will make them nice gifts. I'm going to keep the mold and buy my own polymer clay for next time. Good luck!]

I am either missing something or this is not a well thought out product. We followed instructions, but with the amount of clay provided, the walls of the lanterns were WAY too thin, they would not stand/stay up at all.. Also it was very hard to roll out the clay, quite frustrating while trying to enjoy craft time with the kids, I had to put some serious body weight into it... A child cannot possibly have enough body strength to roll out the clay; to add insult to injury, the clay kept sticking to the roller and creating unattractive lantern surface. We bent the walls into a double layer so that the walls of the lanterns were a little bit thicker so they looked like candle holders... and even then they would not stay up but rather would "cave in" due to lack of structure. To complete the project I did put the lanterns into the oven in hopes of maybe the clay drying out and making the lanterns a little bit harder but the oven time didn't do much at all, the clay was soft after 15-20 min.. Very disappointing, also I am surprised at the number of positive reviews. Perhaps if all provided clay was used to make one lantern, it may work, but definitely NOT three separate lanterns.
