I bought this along with a LLoydpans pan to make Detroit style pizzas. Both items are great, and this does a great job of getting the cut through a very thick, doughy pizza without becoming sloppy. It's nice and sharp, and also works great for cutting a large amount of herbs or (cooked, in my experience) meat. I don't think it would struggle with raw meat, I just didn't use it for that. Not necessarily a problem - and I imagine this is consistent with almost any mezzaluna - but because there are only metal handles, it can get slippery while cleaning. With care, it's a great product and otherwise super easy to use and clean.

This is no toy but rather a very serious kitchen tool made as an heirloom in quality. No wooden or plastic handles to go bad and let me tell you sharp is too mild of word this knife must be handled with care so you don't cut yourself. I am beyond pleased as I got mine on a bit of a sale for 28 dollars. Still this is not cheap when compared to others on Amazon. I order a different one for ten dollars but it was a toy when compared to this Gourmetly Mezzaluna Knife. Don't be fooled the one i ordered first had a dollar store level blade and was soooooo small at 6 3/4 inches. Just buy this one and have it for life and your kids life ~!

I bought this mezzaluna because I got fed up struggling to chop fresh herbs. My only regret is not purchasing this blade sooner. This thing is so sharp and very easy to use, I was able to chop fresh thyme and rosemary into very fine minced bits that were one stage away from powder. To be able to reduce fresh herbs down to super fine minced particles is so very satisfying. This kitchen tool has become very good friends with my pestle & mortar. With the 3 now in my cupboard arsenal, herbs & spices be they fresh or dried, will no longer frustrate me. It does come with a hard plastic sheath to slide over the blade when not in use.

We love this pizza cutter!! Cuts through the pizza cleanly, quickly, and easily. It is definitely sharp so you need to be careful. I cut myself once using the wrong technique for putting the sheath back on after I washed it. It was my own fault, I changed the way I was doing that and haven't cut myself since.We love the two big handles! They are easy for any size hand to hold (obviously hands old enough to use a sharp knife!) and they keep our hands safely out of the way of the blade. We've used this every Friday night for about 5 months. We cook and cut 3 pizzas each time. It is not showing any signs of getting dull. However, one of the things we love is that this can be sharpened if/when it needs sharpening.Great price for a great product!

This thing is much better than the round-wheel pizza cutters. I easily cut all the way through every time. The handles appear to have been welded on and then ground down. It has excellent quality throughout. It comes with a black plastic blade cover, which helps protect it in my knife drawer. Also, it's just the right width to fit in my kitchen drawers without putting it in crooked.

I don't need to chop up pizza that often but occasionally we will pick up a frozen pie from the store, slap some pepperoni on it and serve it up for dinner. Of course, while it is still hot we slice it into pieces and everyone grabs one. In the past we used the traditional pizza wheel, running it back and forth until the pie was cut all the way through. Sometimes it also meant that I didn't roll the roller back through the original cut line. Back and forth, back and forth until the pie was cut.I decided I wanted to try something new and different. I saw this model on Amazon and gave it a shot. I "mostly" like it. I feel that it makes much shorter work of the process of cutting up the pizza into slices. The Rocker Cutter is sturdy and should last quite a while. The cutting edge is very sharp. This item is definitely not a toy and something to be respected when handled. It comes with a plastic sheath to protect the blade while it is laying in the drawer. But in reality I feel like that sheath is protecting me so that I don't accidentally cut my hand reaching into that same drawer for something else.My main reason for giving this 4 stars instead of 5 is that the process for getting the plastic sheath back on the blade is a bit cumbersome. I haven't found a fool-proof system for that yet so I always feel a bit cautious putting the cover back on. It's not a super-fast option. If you do a lot of pizza cutting this is a great option to have laying around. You could cut pies in a jiffy and entertain a bunch of people. Just take your time putting that protective sheath back on and you will be fine.

It is super sharp, and it cleanly cuts pizza into little squares (be sure to use a cutting board).The metal is super shiny, however I do not think it is 100% stainless steel, and it developed a small rust spot after the first use.I buffed this out using 00-steel wool and applied a thin coat of mineral oil, eliminating the rust, and bringing back the shine.Each time I use it, I simply hand wash it and dry it right away. After 5 uses, it still looks shiny as new!I love the look and feel of this, and highly recommend it.
