Trying to decide which is the best value/performance/reliability between the 5080, 6080, 8080, and 9280...any experience comparing any of these?
How large is the water tank?
Is there a noticeable advantage using this iron over the Rowenta DW6080?
At $50 less the DW5080 has better reviews, has anyone used both. I run cotton full steam ahead... is this one really worth $50 more?

Best iron I've ever used by far! Ignore the Naysayers.

I've been ironing for many years and find it very therapeutic. I've tried many hotel irons and last had a 1600-watt Shark which I thought was pretty good. The 1850-watt DW9540 takes ironing to a new level and, as someone else pointed out, really is the high-end sportscar of irons. Clothes come out almost like new and markedly better than any other iron I've used. In particular, I've never seen an iron do so well on seams - it is likely due to the vast amount of steam as well as the many nozzles along the center. The weight of the iron makes it so you don't get accidental wrinkles from the fabric bunching up - I wouldn't have expected this, but it is really good at preventing bunching on both sides of items like slacks or sleeves.I nearly didn't buy this model because of people complaining about the trigger. I think it's really well designed and quite useful. You barely have to touch it to get a good amount of steam and it gives you incredible control. Given the large amount of steam that this thing produces you want it for safety as well as to prevent using up all your water too quickly. Also, you can really have at seams and wrinkles to your heart's desire. You can go through a full tank of water for a single item or once you become more efficient probably 3-5 items on a tank.People also complained about the weight. It's not that noticeable. I almost thought that Amazon sent me the wrong thing because the unopened package felt so light. The glide plate on the iron is very smooth and you don't need to really lift the iron that often. The fine tip at the top is noticeably better than other irons at removing fine wrinkles in difficult areas. From using hotel irons, there are many simple, lightweight irons that have nice non-stick coatings and actually perform quite well. This iron is equally smooth and also has some sort of coating, so I don't feel like anything is missing. This iron may occasionally drip a small amount when using lots of steam, but it is nothing compared to the major dripping I've experienced in inexpensive hotel irons.Rowena really pays attention to details. This iron has a specially designed solid and wide base so the iron is incredibly stable when resting upright. All my other irons would quickly wobble and come close to falling off the ironing board with the slightest movement of the ironing board. The cord is reasonably long - as long as my Shark.Yes, the iron restarts in Wool mode after plugging it in, but it's a simple and quick click to Cotton. Warm-up from room temperature up is 5-10 seconds and you can already start ironing if needed. If the iron is already hot, 1850 watts will warm it up in just a couple seconds. My Shark at 1600 watts would sometimes blow my circuit breaker. This iron is very well controlled and while once or twice I might see my room lights instantaneously dim, it has extremely good voltage control and has not once blown my fuse. One minor issue is that the manual says to turn off the iron before unplugging - there is no off button except for auto-off, so I still have to resort to quickly pulling the plug like I would do with all my other irons.Out of the box the iron looked perfectly new, but there were some minor calc deposits that were coming out. Not sure if this was from factory testing or what. A 3-min calc-clean cycle made it all go away completely.Very well worth the $110 I spent. Ups my ironing for many years to come, noticeably improves my clothes over other irons, and the therapeutic benefit of this insanely good iron is worth every penny. Ignore all of the naysayers out there. This iron rocks!

All the bells and whistles....and more!

I love this iron. It is a bit heavy.....but that provides the weight needed... so I do not have to push down hard. The water filler area is easy to see with a clear window. The settings are easy to adjust and the steam automatically adjusts as well. This is the second Rowenta iron I have purchased, and I am very happy with the quality and ease of use.

Solid iron with quirks

I recently purchased the Rowenta Steam Force Pro Iron, and while it has some impressive features, there are a few notable drawbacks that I didn’t anticipate.Pros:Steam Performance: The amount of steam produced by this iron is exceptional. It effortlessly glides over fabric, making short work of even the toughest wrinkles. This feature is a game-changer for anyone who frequently irons clothes.Quality Build: The iron feels solid and well-made. It has a good weight to it, which adds to the overall experience and effectiveness of the ironing process.Design: The sleek design is visually appealing, and it fits comfortably in hand, allowing for easy maneuverability.Cons:No Built-in Water Sprayer: One of the most glaring omissions is the lack of a built-in water sprayer. This means you’ll need to have a separate water bottle on hand to mist your clothes, which can be quite inconvenient.Temperature Dial Design: The temperature control is a press button rather than a dial, which has proven to be a frustrating oversight. I often find myself accidentally pressing the button while ironing, leading to unintentional temperature changes. This design choice detracts from the overall usability of the iron. Conclusion:Overall, the Rowenta Steam Force Pro Iron delivers on quality and steam performance, making it a strong contender in the market. However, the absence of a built-in water sprayer and the problematic temperature control design are significant drawbacks that could affect your ironing experience. If you can overlook these issues, it’s a solid choice, but be prepared to adapt your routine to accommodate them.

works great

Been through a lot of irons over the years, and did have another model from this manufacture, but was having issues with leaking water while ironing. After doing some research I finally took the leap on this pricey unit. So far I'm very impressed with it. It is a bit heavy, but that is not an issue for me. The steam function works very well, and is non-stop as long as the trigger is activated. No more waiting for the water to heat back up to make steam. That's what makes it for me....and no more leaking water over the clothes your ironing. I'm happy with it.

Very disappointed-not worth the cost & notoriety of the brand.

I have previously had 2 Rowenta irons that I loved. I hate this one. The temperature controls are in a terrible location, and if you hold the iron, you accidentally change the temperature. (Who test piloted this?) The iron doesn't get as hot as their other models. The linen set won't even remove the wrinkles from my husband's wool pants; forget cotton and cotton clothes stay wrinkled. I had given this as a gift, and they gave it back for me to try. It is too late to return. Very disappointed. It is not worth the cost or notoriety of the brand.

Good Iron

I wear linen, almost exclusively. That means I put a lot of mileage into my steam irons. This iron has transformed my life - I can get rid of those awful sleeve wrinkles that run down the entire arm in ten seconds flat. The weight of the plate facilitates rapid wrinkle removal without messing up the alternate side. I swear that I'm ironing twice as fast and twice as completely. If I were in the professional ironing circuit, this would be my sidearm. Also, it's not made in China (produit de france / entworfen in Deutschland). That's worth the 7X premium over a cheap Phillips or Black and Decker just by itself.
