Nice little saw

This Japanese style trim saw has a very flexible blade, allowing for very precise cuts. I found the blade to be very sharp, making for solid cuts on the pull stroke. I found the grip to be comfortable, allowing for the proper application of pressure while cutting. The included blade protectors are a nice touch as well. The price to value ratio on this knife is high, in my opinion.

Hobbyist saw

Excellent saw. Easy to use and sharp. Perfect for hobbyist. Teeth on both sides, finer and coarser, which makes it even better.

Works on rubberwood

Handle is short and small. Dual sided blade covers soft and hard wood. I bought it to modify furniture legs for proper assembly of a bench. It worked.

Very Handy, cuts super fast and flush

This is a great saw, thin due to cutting on the pull stroke, allows for very easy straight line cutting with almost no material loss, maybe 1/32 or less of board is turned into dust. This allows cutting off dowels and other wood very close to another surface or for super fine detail work like dovetails where the larger saws would be unwieldy.Has nice covers to prevent the cutting tips from getting damaged (or damaging you) when not needed. I'm making a canvas roll pouch to hold all of the saws as they are rather long when the blade is installed.Fit and finish are excellent as is ease of use. If you have historically been bad at hand sawing, give this a try, you'll stop using a power saw for many applications.

Good value

I cannot compare this to other saws of this style, but as a woodworking who mainly uses power tools and just needed a flush cut saw for occasional uses this works great. The handle feels good in my hand and is easy to cut through wood without marring the surface. Will it remain sharp and effective as long as a more expensive saw? Perhaps, though I wouldn't expect it to. For the low price, it's at minimum a good saw to try if you're just getting started. If you wear through it, you're out very little and it's a good sign you're actually going to use the saw enough to invest more into one.

Works no better than a regular hacksaw

Just an average saw, nothing special.

Sharp saw does the job

A reliable cross cutting saw for small projects, cutting dowels, etc. The blade is thin and flexible, but strong. The wooden handle is easy to grip, adding to accuracy. This is an excellent saw to have on hand for all your woodworking jobs.

Great Little Saw for Precise Cuts, but a Few Drawbacks

I recently purchased this Japanese pull saw, and it’s quickly become a favorite tool in my workshop. The SK5 high-carbon steel blade is excellent—it’s flexible yet strong, allowing me to make clean, accurate cuts every time. I love the double-sided design with 11 TPI for rip cuts and 17 TPI for crosscuts, which makes it versatile for various projects. The non-slip beech handle with traditional Japanese patterns is not only beautiful but also provides a secure grip, even during longer cutting sessions. The saw is lightweight and easy to carry, which is perfect for taking it between different job sites or even just moving around the garage. It’s an excellent gift idea for anyone into woodworking, DIY, or carpentry. However, there are a couple of things that could be improved. The blade is quite thin, which is great for precision work but can feel a bit flimsy when cutting through harder woods. It’s also not the most durable saw for heavy-duty tasks, so I wouldn’t rely on it for larger projects that require more robust cutting tools. Additionally, the handle, while comfortable, feels a bit small, which might not be ideal for those with larger hands.Overall, it’s a fantastic saw for precise, smaller cuts and great for those finer details in woodworking. Just be mindful of its limitations with tougher materials.
