I purchased this light to replace one of the high hats in my kitchen. This light has a switch for selecting the brightness, which was great and made it easy to match the other high-hat lights in my kitchen. It was easy to install and seems to sit just perfectly. The light looks great and I’m hoping it will last a long time.

I bought 34 of them to replace the incandescent BR40 bulbs in the recessed cans on our porches and balcony. The bronze trim was an ideal replacement for the original dark baffle bezels, and a good match for the stained ceilings. Bought 2 initially to test with a Lutron RadioRA 2 6CL dimmer. Worked fine and dimmed well. Of the remaining 32, I ordered 30 New and 2 “Like New” Units from Amazon Warehouse. Installation was simple. I used the spring clips on all but 2 where there was a problem with the C-Clips in the cans. The alternative “compression plates” worked fine as well. I wish these were available with a higher brightness, say 1,000 lumens. That would seem more appropriate for an interior fixture. - My one disappointment was one of the Like New Units. It was functional, but the bronze flange was warped, so it wouldn’t lie flat on the ceiling. - I’d expect something like that from a “good” used product, but not a “like new” one. And it even had an “inspected by Amazon” sticker on the box. Oh well, wasn’t worth the $1.90 in savings. I’ll keep it for the spare parts and order another New one.

This fixture fit the hole of the spotlight fine. It was a bit of work to get the springs to hold in place. That is due to the hole on the vinyl soffit being irregularly cut. This fixture is a lot better looking than the spotlight I removed. Nice clean look. Plus, you have the 3 brightness selections to choose from. I have this fixture set on the second brightness and my front porch is considerably brighter. The porch looks a lot better under this light. Price was right and shipping was fast. I liked this one so much I ordered another one to change out another fixture outside.

Arrived knocking around in the bottom of a giant 18x16x12” cardboard box with nothing but the 2 unpackaged lights in it. Shrug. Minus one star isn’t for that. Thankfully they survived even if the planet won’t. They are slightly bluer tint when dimmed than the Ecosmart units we had to replace … because those burned out after a few (2 or 3?) years. Same hue at full brightness. Nice bright slightly yellow similar to tungsten. Our dimmers are old school and they dim fine. Also sadly for the planet when they burn out the whole unit is useless—can’t open it and replace the LEDs. Minus one star for that waste and resulting bigger replacement cost than a simple bulb. Very easy install. Had to use the old screw-in bulb sockets included because the connectors midway along the wire are very slightly different from, and incompatible with, those on our old units. Hopefully if you look carefully you’ll see your wires originate with classic screw-in bulb sockets in your cans in case you need to go with those for compatibility. Otherwise easy install. Be sure to get all four spring ends into the slotted tabs into the can so they push in and sit flush.

This fixed one of the worst electrical fixtures in my house, which was an old bathroom 6” can light with an odd-sized compact fluorescent bulb that barely worked. This kit was perfect, having some options for brightness/color and the same kind of spring fasteners which the old fixture had. I did have to cut out the old rare socket. I just cut off the regular socket fitting for this replacement so I could wire it directly with wire connectors. If you’re not already comfortable and familiar with working on home electrical systems, you might want a professional —unless you have the standard size bulb socket. This replacement just screws in like a lightbulb. I could wish this had a little wider cover. It leaves about 1/4” of the gasket exposed from the old light. It’s probably perfect for a 5” can, but maybe a bit small for 6”. But it looks good enough for me and works great.

I'm very happy with these lights. They are nice and bright and I really like the way you can get just the right colour temperature set with a sliding switch.

Pros: great product, easy install.Cons: color temperatures do not match other fixtures with same temperature and CRIs. It does not even match other bulbs from other manufacturers.I have many fixtures in my home from the same manufacturer. These fixtures at the same color temperature have a very different tint. For example, the 2700 K setting has more of a rose hue, while the 3000 K is more like 3500 K (very bright, pure white, than with a hint of yellow like the other 3000 K fixtures from this manufacturer.If you were going to use these throughout your house, then it is a great option. However, if you have different units throughout your home, even from this same manufacturer, I would steer clear.

This thing works because it’s made for one purpose. I installed it easily and found out to my delight that there was a light setting so that we can match the lumens to the other lights in the room.

I don't usually post reviews and reserve the act for products that exceed expectations. This is one of them. What I appreciated most is that this retrofit unit comes with two install methods – the torsion spring which seems to be the most common, and friction blades (which I'm thinking is used in older or more "builder-grade" homes). Our old pot light cans were the latter so if this product didn't have the friction blade addition then using torsion springs would've made the install that much more difficult (involves getting additional C-clips and then screwing them into the inner side of the cans). Anyhow, all I had to do was swap out the torsion springs with the included friction blades and replacing our old potlights was as simple as changing a lightbulb.

I have over 160 expensive pot lamps in my home. Needed brown for the home theatre. Found these. They work as well and look as good as my other lights which were more than twice the price.

I just bought these lights and yet to be installed. Although i see a lot of reviews here of people having installed them outside, which is my intention, on the boxes they come in, it says in big bold letters "Interior"...so I hope that is not going to be an issue for me to install them outside but, the box words do not look good, especially for a constantly picky electrician.
