Work surprisingly well
I use a flat crimper and a heat gun. That combination worked well for me. I made sure that there's a good mechanical connection before heating. Too much crimp can perforate the plastic. There's a learning curve between not enough crimp and too much. Once figured out, it's simple. For the times that I applied too much crimp, I put a short length of heat shrink tube on top.I like these fittings.

Shrink It and Forget It
If you need to make some good connections and don’t have a soldering iron, these are a good option. I used these when I was modding my kid’s ride-on. These allowed me to have a good connection that was protected from the elements.
