The media could not be loaded. First time I saw the EMPOWLINE Sky Light was in a home decor influencer’s post—instantly hooked by its realistic sky simulation. Delivery was fast, and the packaging was minimal but secure. Installation requires pre-planning the ceiling space, so it’s best to set it up during renovation—retrofitting later can be tricky.The moment I turned it on—wow! The light isn’t harsh blue but a soft, natural sky-like glow. The adjustable color temperature is a game-changer: cool white for daytime clarity, warm yellow for cozy nights.After a month of use, the biggest takeaway? It genuinely boosts mood! On gloomy days or during long indoor hours, glancing up at the “sky” eases that closed-in feeling. The color rendering is excellent—perfect for makeup or reading without eye strain.However, there are downsides:-Premium price—More expensive than regular lights, so weigh your needs.-Depends on room lighting—If your space is very dark, pair it with other light sources.-Occasional app lag—Smart controls work smoothly most times, but minor delays happen.If you want unique ambiance and healthy lighting, EMPOWLINE Sky Light is a great pick. But pure pragmatists might find it pricey. For me? The daily dose of “indoor sky” therapy is worth it!

Beautiful light just as promised. Operates from Smart Phone and you can invite your partner in. Frustrated that there was no remote at all so in order to operate it or adjust the settings you need a smart phone and an account. We set it up hardwired on, so electrician had to turn the breaker on and off so we could bluetooth pair the app with the device. Everything on the App is in Chinese so it's a little difficult to navigate at first but pretty straightforward after. Colors are highly mixable so you can get just the light you want for the time of day that it is. You can still see the diodes from a certain angle but the light quality is astoundingly real and for our small 5 x 5 bathroom where we had no windows and couldn't put a real skylight in because we'd put solar panels on the roof, this was a godsend.

Very cool when it is randomly fully illuminated, but impossible Chinese setup instructions. Neither app suggested can setup with QR code in instructions, despite the app attempting to scan the QR code in the child size microfont instruction manual. No activation code offered to key in for SmartLife app. Can get to link to iPhone via WiFi but they freezes. No reply to multiple email requests for product support. Light blinks 10x when loading laundry machine, driving my wife crazy. Now I have an expensive hole in my ceiling if I throw it away. All it would require is simple product support…in lieu of any legible setup process. Don’t buy this. Great idea, horrible and expensive delivery of the concept that doesn’t work.

At $329 this is certainly a very very good value. Other artificial skylights can cost thousands of dollars for something only incrementally better than this. The sunlight effect is quite realistic, and the adjustable brightness and color temperature mean that it can be tuned to most environments. The LED light quality is pretty good but not great compared to say a Soraa LED. My biggest complaints: 1) The mounting clips are a bit weak, and don't hold the unit tight enough against the drywall. 2) The mobile app has a really nice feature to smoothly alter the brightness and color temperature over the course of the day, but the transitions can be specified ONLY in terms of hours and minutes. They really need to add "sunrise" and "sunset" as supported trigger times. I am hoping that, since it's Zigbee, I can use Homeassistant instead of the native app, but we'll see.

I've been obsessed lately with natural sunlight and how to obtain this marvel of nature during the winter months when the days are short. Most indoor lighting just can't match the rejuvenation one gains from sunlight although many products have claimed success. This skylight is the closest I've seen to achieving that goal for the price. This is easily the best upgrade to my home I've made in the last two years and I plan to add more. I bought the 1X2ft version which isn't as bright as sunlight coming through a real skylight at high noon but it's still plenty bright and quite convincing as a skylight. Friends that have seen it didn't know it wasn't real until I told them. Now to be honest, if you look directly at the LED strip (from a steep angle) through the nanoparticle-doped window you can tell it's not the sun but at most viewing angles it just looks like a blue sky with sunlight piercing through. The app control is also super cool as you can adjust the color temperature and brightness of the light to match different times of day. The app also allows you to setup a day/night cycle but I've never used this since I don't leave it on all day. Very impressed for the money! Last thing to mention, this was very easy to install. The clips that came with it were useless for me so I just anchored it to the floor joist with a few screws through the cover and then dabbed a touch of white paint to mask the screws. Looks perfect!

Great looking artificial skylight. Had the contractor put it in my newly renovated bathroom and it really looked like the sky. Very impressive.

My husband and I had this light installed during a recent bathroom remodel, and we are obsessed! Both of our full baths are without windows, but this light feature looks REAL! It was cool before, but we just programmed it to follow the day to night light patterns, and we can’t get enough of it. It turned our new spa room into a true haven, and that says a lot for us as parents - both working full-time - with a 2 & 3 year old! Our kids love it too! We have been using it for several weeks now, and I only hope it stands the test of time!
