utter junk, both boards immediately failed at +9V input (within spec!)
Very upset at this product. It is specified for up to +12V power. I applied +9V power and the 7660 voltage inverter chip failed and got very hot and smelled bad. So then I tried the other board, and that one briefly worked and then also failed, although in that case simply not providing its voltage inverting function, so there was no negative rail, and the circuit failed to work. What can I say, it's junk.ADDED: By the way, I then unsoldered the 7660 switched-cap inverter chip and provided my own -8 Vdc, and the remaining chips worked OK as expected. They may be using a cheap/underspec inverter that may work at +5Vdc input, but not at +9V.

A reviewer said the unit didn't work at 12v so I ran it at 10v which is the spec on the 7660 negative voltage generator, I worked fine for 5 minutes hen shorted the power supply. Now the -5 out is the same as the input. I don't even want to try the second unit that I purchased.
