The design of this light is quite good, much better than some other dusk-to-dawn setups, with heavy hinged doors on them. This separates into 2 easy to work with sections, so you can bolt up the backing plate, then do the wiring connections, and then just bolt on the front part. Be aware that it doesn't come with a waterproof bracket for running the wires through the case, so you'll need to supply that on your own.The light is angled at the front, to output in the directions you would want it to go (that is, not just in every direction, like some other lights, and anger your neighbors). It's also 'just bright enough' to be used at the end of a driveway, or over a garage door or barn. You're not going to light up your whole driveway with this, but that's not what it's intended to do.The photosensor is also in a great spot, on the front of the light. It's easy to access if it needs to be cleaned, and it's unlikely to get a big buildup on it like the sensors on top of lights do. The seal between the two pieces of the housing fits perfectly, it seems like a strong, thick metal, and I expect this to last a long time.

I was surprised by the weight of this item for the size of the light. It is a very sturdy and heavy duty build.Specifications wise, this offers 3500 lumens or light with a color temperature of 5000K, which is a bright white which will help the video surveillance camera to capture what's happening in a well lit condition that the camera likes. It is also IPX65 rated meaning it will be "Protected against water jets from any angle" and is "Dust tight, no ingress of dust", making this really suitable for outdoor installation. It cannot be submerged, so you absolutely can't install this in a pool for example, but that's really not what this product was designed for anyway.The price point might seem a little high, but this is really a quality built and I believe it will last a long time before needing to be replaced.A feature I really like is the Dusk to Dawn photocell which mean I don't have to bother switching it on and off manually. It will detect when it get dark and turn on by itself.Very happy with this.

I have some similarly designed ones to this on the deck, and I wanted one for the side of the house too.I live next to the sea in exposed sunlight so the materials are very important - This is well made, solid and feels right. It remains to be seen how long the lenses will remain clear, but I am hopeful.They are not without installation issues though - The screws they supply are not long enough for a lot of boxes (they are very short!) and the punchouts you need to punch out are weirdly difficult to do, and leave sharp edges unless you file them away. I still dont know how you are meant to punch them out properly but I managed. The mounting plate also wouldn't fit one of my standard sized Canadian boxes either, so I ended up putting one of the screws through the wall instead.They don't install well on siding, there are huge gaps which I will end up having to fill. Oh and since I am coming up with problems, the lenses are weirdly hard to get back on and keep sealed - I am not sure why, it looks like they skimped on the design and used the cheapest screws they possibly could.If you don't want the light sensor, it's fairly easy to disable it by just disconnecting it from the LED driver inside the case, but you could also just pop some black tape over the sensor.I would have given this five stars if it wasnt for the cumulative small problems! But I still love this style of light and I am keeping this one up. It is a good price for a nice light too.

This wall pack light is perfect for an outdoor light on our little barn.The light is angled downward, illuminating both our man door as well as the adjacent livestock door and the pen beyond. The instructions are well done, with Swedish box store artwork and they are a big help since it seems there is an order to install the light. Overall, if you’re familiar with household electrical, you won’t find this light to be a challenge at all.There is an included round 3M foam seal to prevent moisture from seeping in through the wiring, but there isn’t a weather seal for the perimeter of the housing. A quick bead of caulk solved the issue.The dusk till dawn sensor is a huge upgrade from our old bell-style outside light that required being left on all day because I was prone to forgetting otherwise.This is one of those simple products that does one job and does it well. I’d recommend this light to anyone.
