Great slicer for your home; be sure to look for the second blade!
I love my deli slicer! I use it exclusively for slicing roasts which I make at home, sometimes cutting the roast into thick 1/2 inch slabs and other times cutting it into paper-thin slices. Either way, the deli slicer has performed admirably over the past four months (I probably use it 4-5 times per week). It is pretty easy to clean, not hard to use, the thickness of the meat is easily adjustable, and I don’t think it’s too noisy. Some reviews complained about the noise being too loud, and while I wouldn’t use it next to a sleeping baby, I don’t think it’s unreasonably loud. One additional point: one reviewer commented how he was disappointed that his slicer did not come with the second (non-serrated) blade which was promised. I also thought I had not received MY second blade, until I went to throw the cardboard box away and discovered that the second blade is packed on the underside of the styrofoam packing material! So, be sure to look for your second blade…..it’s there, somewhere.Overall, you won’t be disappointed with this deli slicer.

It's ok.
I've used used it a few times, and overall it does an OK job. Even with the suction cup feet it slides around quite a bit. Whatever you cut ends up behind the unit, so I find it's easier to turn it sideways - slice with my right hand then pick up the cut material with my left. It was supposed to come with a serrated and a straight blade, but only came with one. I enquired and the seller sent me the other blade. Neither is particularly sharp, but both seem to work ok. Not sure what I'll do when they eventually get dull. I find I spend as much time cleaning it as I did using it. Again - "it works" and the build quality seems OK, but there's room for improvement.

Sourdough is a NO!
I am not sure what the issue is, but there is a small piece of white plastic that is at the base where everything comes together that just rips the crap out of everything I try to slice. Looking at photos of other brands and models, they all have something there. Slicing the sourdough bread was a disaster. Totally mutilated slices of cucumbers, apples, and potatoes (were they too hard??). The sourdough bread is tougher than this cutter. A complete dud for me.

Solid unit, cleans easily, comes with manual
I bought the CukAid 200W Electric Meat Slicer about a month ago after reading the reviews & satisfied myself that I would be getting a serviceable unit. I was right! It is a solid unit, has some heft to it. It was packed very well even though the box looked like it had been roughed around. The unit came with the smooth and serrated blades and an instruction manual. The cord is about 34"+/- so I had some maneuvering room on my counter. I was concerned pre-purchase about the food platform sliding back & forth being a smooth motion. It is a fluid movement it does not get cocked & stick. I first sliced about 10lbs of boneless ham into lunch meat. Cut the ham in half then the halves in half. It was easy to setup and sliced the ham very easily. The next project was to slice 5 lbs carrots for home canning. I have a mandoline slicer but the CukAid was much easier/faster. Using it I sliced the 5lbs and cleaned the unit in a little over 45 minutes. It is easy to clean. Everything comes off and a sink of sudsy water cleans them up. A damp sponge wipes the back & rest of the unit then an alcohol wipe does the rest. You do need something to unscrew the screw holding the blade on. A US nickel works great. (you can see it taped to the blade box for handy use. That is the only thing I can think of that would have made this item 100% perfect, something to unscrew the blade. I had no trouble with the motor 'bogging' down as I thought I would with the ham or carrots. Just go slow and steady when you push the food through the blade. I could not use the clear plastic food holder for the carrots but I did use a glove that came with my mandoline to keep from cutting myself. Don't get in a hurry and be cautious WHERE your hands are the blades ARE SHARP. You don't want to be distracted when using this kitchen appliance.

Gears are plastic
Cons: gears are plastic as so is the guard.Pros: everything else about it is aluminum alloy and is heavier than it looks, but not where you can't move it around. It is perfect counter size and cuts really good. I was hoping I got the second blade but didn't, I read it wrong, so will be ordering the slim blade.Comes apart super easy for cleaning. I do not recommend putting it in the dishwasher, but that is just me.I make a lot of beef jerky, so it did very well cutting to the sizes I wanted. I cut my meat for jerky frozen to get better cuts and it did a really good job using the blade it came with, so yes, definitely need the skin blade. All in all, as a chef of 36 years and a beef jerky maker, I highly recommend this product. Very worth the price and quality. You also get a 30 day money back guarantee with an 18 month extended warranty. Can't beat that. I still give it 5 stars with the plastics.

Affordable, high quality meat slicer!
I was expecting this meat slicer to be bigger and bulkier but was happy to see that it is light and fits nicely on my counter! It is quiet and cuts meat very smoothly. The slicer comes with 2 blades: serrated for thicker, denser meat, and the smooth blade for more precise cutting. There is a dial to adjust the thickness of slices and the moving meat tray comes off for easy cleaning. The instructions are sparse so I had to figure out how to change the blades and use the plastic meat "pusher" myself but it is a very simple design that most people will be able to figure out quite easily. All in all, I was pleasantly surprised by how well this meat slicer worked for the price I paid. I wish I would have bought one years ago!

Decent slicer for the price
Product is as advertise. Used for 9 months and the motor burned out, but the company is replacing it at no charge. Will update after receiving the replacement.
