Patch worked great.
This is sent perfect but it's pretty close. Hail a couple weeks ago put a hole in my siding but I fished the broken piece out from inside and put it on the sticky side to use. I have a lot of acrylic paints so Iixed some up to match the siding. Cleaned the area off with alcohol before I started mixing. It was easy to use and the repair looks fine. I think it will be durable.

Here's what I did...
We found this product on a video someone had shared and had to figure out two things before buying:1) is the price where I'm able to take a shot at this fix without making it irreversibly worse and without costing so much that I could potentially deeply regret it? It was right in the sweet spot; and I found the alternative costs to be way more. Hundreds for replacement, or self-loathing for doing nothing.2) My realistic expectations: how close do I need this to look really good from, and will this get me there? My number was 8 feet, and from what I read, I decided yes, it would. We were dealing with several 1/4 to 3/4 inch holes in several different long runs of siding along the side of the house, and one larger one near the gutter. It would have taken replacement of at least 4 separate panels which is the worst option other than leaving it un-repaired. The application was easy, although I can't imagine not understanding how to use this. The color was so close that we almost didn't bother painting it, but having watched the video, I naturally went for it. The attached picture shows the before and after of the first fix we did, which happened to be the largest hole we had near the gutter. The results were even better on the later applications because I finally remembered to actually feather the paint properly. I attached photos of my very first attempt because it's probably the fairest representation of an average Joe doing this with no experience... even that attempt came out great, and is barely noticeable from more than a few feet away; and it got even better from there.Something to note: Don't expect a heavy, thick application. I think the lines would be way too prominent if it were thick anyway; and this made the painting a breeze. On a larger hole, I feel like I would use plumber's putty on the hole, sand it dead smooth, then apply the Mendyl... then there would be no depressions visible in the least. Maybe the seller can say if this would be ok to do with the product; but it's certainly not necessary, you can see in the photo it's barely visible, and that was our largest hole. We experienced no edge curl-up, no insufficient adhesion, and super important, no poorly machined pieces with bad edges. And as I write this, all applications have had no adverse reaction to cold or warm weather, nor the rain, nor the hose (its durability was my number one concern going in, and it's evident that it's just part of the house now and isn't going anywhere). I will update the review if this changes. If you are considering replacement because of small to medium sized holes in your vinyl... definitely reconsider. I'm not sure why someone would dish out unnecessary money to replace siding when you can just patch the hole with this to remove the weather vulnerability... paint it so it looks nice to visitors, yourself and your neighbors, and spend your siding money on something else more exciting than siding, which is almost literally anything else. You have to decide for yourself, but for me... I like it, I wish I thought of it, and I suppose I would recommend it to a friend... most of them at least. The rest of them don’t deserve my recommendations :)

It's vinyl shelf liner
This is much thinner than I expected. It's essentially a short piece of wide, white electrical tape, and shouldn't cost more than about $2. You can get an 11 foot roll of it (used in sign making) for about seven bucks - see Amazon product B0BV324HY3. It seems to do the trick, although being as thin as it is it shows wrinkles when covering large holes like the ones I put in our house when I accidentally hit it with golf balls. It's only been on a couple of days, so I'm interested to see how long it stays stuck. I tried duct tape and that only lasted a week or two.

Easy and affordable repair to vinyl siding
After our shed vinyl was torn in several places, we decided to make some repairs. Unfortunately, replacing the siding with new vinyl wasn't in the budget. Enter Mendyl Vinyl Siding Repair Kit -- an affordable alternative. I did a lot of research - read reviews on Amazon and searched for similar methods to repair siding for best results. In hindsight, I would've opted for reduced expansion foam, but I had styrofoam on hand and went with that. I matched the paint color of the siding by taking a small piece of the broken vinyl to Lowe's, where I purchased a weather-protect paint. Here are the steps I took (and, I also recommend taking your time - I did not.) :1. Clean the surface before you start - that helps the product stick better.2. Measure the size piece of the product and trim to size with scissors.3. Fill the holes in the siding to get as flat a surface to work with as you can. This helps the repair look seamless. Clearly, I had a few bubbles in mine. Like I said - I wasn't being very patient. :)4. Peel the backing off the product and gradually put over the area to be repaired. I started at one side and worked my way down, pushing out any air bubbles in the process. A couple of times I had to peel it off slightly to reposition a wrinkle - but no issues as it went right back on easily. Press hard and rub the sticker on the surface very well.5. Paint product to match the vinyl siding. I had to do two coats and use my finger to feather out the paint a bit on the original vinyl. This worked for the most part.6. Let dry and enjoy your repair!

Meh, it’s just tape
Sure, it covers the hole. And it’s white like my siding. But it’s vinyl tape. And not very sticky tape at that. I had purchased one of these repair kits prior at home improvement location for a tiny lil nick from weed eater. I thought this would be the same. It’s not. Cheaper to buy a white roll of vinyl tape.
