Educational gift

It was a gift for my son. He was quite excited to see that he owned a smidgen of most of the elements that make up the universe.

The right size and it looks great on a desk!

I bought this for my partner who happens to be an environmental engineering manager who is notoriously hard to shop for. They absolutely love quirky little science gifts like this, and this fit the bill perfectly. Looks great, the LED base lights up fairly well, some of the colors are a little hard to see but it does look great on their desk.

Great gift

I gave this to my grandchild. They are really into science and loved this. It looks nice displayed in a room or small office. The color options are nice and vibrant. It is well built and durable.

Very nice, just a few nitpicks

This is a really nice periodic table display that contains real elements inside (not all of them though, obviously.) Mostly it just doesn't contain radioactive elements or elements that can only be created in a lab for nanoseconds at a time (also radioactive) but it does contain an actual uranium sample which is cool (it's not refined, it's safe to touch). The base has an internal battery that can be charged via a USB cable that is included. Unfortunately they didn't put a USB-C port on the base, just a DC barrel jack so if you lose the USB to DC cable you'll have some trouble finding a replacement. That's one gripe. But the base has RGB lighting and you can set a static color or have it cycle through colors. It's really pretty. It would make a fantastic gift for a teacher or any science nerd like Myself. The clear display block itself is heavy and is a solid block of acrylic. it scratches and scuffs VERY easily (but this is not the product's fault, but rather just an issue inherent to acrylic.) As you can probably see in the picture I have scratched mine a few times. They can usually be buffed out if they aren't deep but just beware this is a display item and not really meant to be handled a lot or else it'll get scratched. Besides all that though I still like it and can recommend it. Also I think the price is good for what it is. Despite the small gripes I have with it I am genuinely satisfied with it! Just remember to be careful not to scratch it.

I Have Always Wanted One of These

This is (no joke) a bit of a dream come true. It's not as dramatic as it sounds, but when I was younger, studying chemistry in high school and college, I always wished I had a sample of every element on the periodic table (which was quite a bit smaller back then). I have a bit of an obsession over knowing the symbols, properties, and uses of every element. When I saw kits like these being advertised online a few years ago, I instantly wanted one, but they were prohibitively expensive. Wish me luck explaining to my wife why I dropped a couple grand on a large acrylic display of potentially toxic materials.Enter the HSQUARE periodic table. Despite the description saying this is "large," it most definitely is not. It easily fits on a normal sized desk and is about the size of one of those acrylic awards you get from work in lieu of a raise or promotion. Do I mind the size? Heck no. Sure, I'd love a huge one to put up on my wall with large chunks of gold and platinum in it, but for the price, this thing is great! The element samples themselves are pretty tiny, which is probably the only let-down about this thing, but there isn't a whole lot of visual difference between most metals anyway. I also seriously doubt those little foamy bubbles are actually filled with actual fluorine gas (for example), but who would know the difference anyway? It does come with a nice wooden base with RGB LED lighting hidden inside of it, which lights up your table of elements and creates a genuinely beautiful effect. You can touch the little metal button on the back to switch between the different lighting modes and it even comes with a USB cord because, get this, it's rechargeable. So while it's not exactly the periodic table I always dreamed about, it certainly satisfies my curiosity and even piqued my children's curiosity in chemistry. My daughter often asks me to "see the elements," which really warms my heart. This would make an excellent gift for the chemist, scientist, or run-of-the-mill nerd (like me) in your life. If you can afford an actual large, premium set, then by all means take the plunge. However, if you're looking for something neat for yourself or a really cool gift for somebody who loves science, then this is a great choice.

High quality

This is so cute. I got it for one of our educators for their new desk, and they love it! Some of the lights aren't super visible with the office lights on, but the blue and white look great. Perfect, high quality gift for a teacher or science lover.

Students love this

This was a great investment—my students are fascinated by it, and invariably leads to them asking some great questions. The size is really nice—much easier to see the element samples than in some of the smaller versions of this same kind of thing. They acrylic is crystal clear, and it sits comfortably in its stand. The light is a fun touch, though honestly I think it makes the samples harder to see.

perfect gift for the science teacher in your life, great conversation piece

The best part about this little conversation piece is that it lifts out of the light up base and you can encourage your visitors/guests/students to pick it up to closely at the real elements. Very fun gift for a science teacher. The light up base doesn't seem to have a normal white light, best i could find is light blue. The base has batteries that last a long time, at least a couple days but we either leave it plugged in or don't use the light, the best part is getting up close to look at it and the LEDs can be more distracting when trying to look closely. Supposedly 83 real elements, i believe it, several gasses just look like little bubbles but most of the rest are convincing that they are real (except Pr, prettyyyy sure that should be a silvery metal but it looks like a flake of black carbon) but that is the fun of looking at this and discussing. Several others are also probably a salt form, but close enough.
