This model is made with fairly sturdy wood (as long as you are careful when punching the pieces out). It was easy to assemble and makes a nice addition to my travel shelf.

I chose this hands-on arts and crafts 3D wooden puzzle as a gift for my 11-year-old grandson.  On our last visit, he told me that he "wasn't good at art." This is an idea where I totally disagreed with him, as he is highly skilled at intricate Origami paper folding.  What he needed was another construction-type craft.  The DIY mechanical model of the Statue of Liberty was ideal.  The UGEARS puzzle kits have many nice features. PROS:* UGEARS mechanical models are manufactured in the UKRAINE.  I am thrilled to support the Ukrainian people as they suffer during war.* The kit is listed as "Easy" level and is recommended for ages 14+. * 46 close-fitting, well-made wooden pieces can be assembled in 1/2 to 1 hour, depending on ages involved.* The plywood model for collectors can be enjoyed as a fun-for-all family project with adult involvement.  It can be displayed with pride on a shelf or table when completed. * No glue is required for assembly.* All parts are pre-cut on the board and are easily removed.* There is a QR code on the box so you can watch many videos. I would call this a model more than a puzzle, but no glue is needed. The pieces need to be separated out carefully. They came out cleanly. The pieces are numbered on the board you punch them out of and the instructions use these numbers. The instructions are pictograms and you need to pay attention to the orientation carefully. The pieces are nicely detailed. The pieces go together really well, as long as some care is used. I am really impressed with the quality of this now that I've completed it. ***Also, they don't tell you, but there is a tool on the third board labeled "H" that helps you get small pieces out.

This is a small, easy wooden puzzle that can easily be completed in under an hour. The finished product is cute but I really wish the flag was also wood rather than paper. The instructions were easy to follow but the included wax was unnecessary as there are no moving parts.

It's touted as "easy for adults" ; however, I found it tough - I am just a beginner at wooden models - guess I'll stick with kids' kits. At least, I have it done - it only took several hours and more glue than I like to think about -but it's done. It will take its place on my dresser - it's not worthy of a place on my mantel.

There was some enclosed wax. I'm not sure of the original shape because mine was liquid (it was hot out) when I got it. I tried rubbing the nubs with wax but it didn't seem to make any difference and the wax kept breaking and making a mess. * The Statue of Liberty herself is 4 wood slats held together by 2 wood pins. It would've looked a million times better if they had not put the holes in her dress for the pins and instead provided glue for those pieces.
