This refractory repair cement was used to install fire-proof material inside an old ammo box for use as an annealing box in my jewelry class. We use the box to create shadows when annealling sterling silver in a classroom that is pretty well lighted. Our old box was made with material that came apart after several years of torch heating. the Red Devil furnace cement was thick, but spread evenly over all the parts we cut (Silquar brand soldering board) and a single jar was more than adequate to assemble the box.. So far, after several weeks of use, the annealling box works just as intended.

I was hesitant to entrust my critical fireplace mortaring needs to just any brand, but Meeco came through for me. This mortar is of a rich, thick consistency, eminently workable with knife or finger. When I replaced my natural gas water heater I needed a solution to the problem of sealing the vent to the chimney. When the previous water hearer was replaced concrete mortar was used. The concrete cracked and was a potentially dangerous CO situation. I wish I would have noticed this sooner. The Red Devil adhered to both the chimney and the metal vent pipe, the concrete mortar did not adhere well to the vent pipe.

I used the product yesterday and was surprised to see how smooth and workable it is. Have to wait until I get a fire in the stove to find out if it takes the heat.

This was not actually what I needed at all. Apparently a thin layer of good ol' cement was all that was necessary. Not to mention the lid was off a bit when it arrived, so some of the contents were hard.

After 20 years of using my wood burning stove I developed a crack on the top of the stove. I was noticing the smell of smoke inside the house and decided to try a cheap fix. This product worked perfectly.
