For your sake, leave it up a few days after first setup
So, I got this despite the reviews saying that it was difficult to put up but I wanted a wider cot so I didn’t really care. The first time setting it up was admittedly hell. We didn’t have a clue as to how it should really be set up as it didn’t come with instructions but we got it done. I will tell you what I’ve learned. There are two different length bars that go on this cots top and bottom to stabilize it. The longer one is for the side with the patch/head of the cot while the shorter one is for the blank side/foot of the cot. Position the cot canvas as near centered as you can. The first time we put it together we actually snapped down the bars on opposite corners then finished the foot side and the longer top bar gave us enough leverage that we could snap the final top side in. It’s pretty much drum tight. Please for your sake leave it up for a day or two and let it stretch out a bit. While the first time it went up it took me and a full grown man struggling to put it together, the second time I could snap it together all by myself. This does not mean that it isn’t just as tight. It still makes a drum sound if you hit it it’s just been stretched to shape now. After the first time putting it together as long as you snap the foot bar down first you can brace the top and pull the head bar into place pretty easily. I still attach one of the sides to the head bar first but once it’s been used a little it’s easier to deal with. I may add pictures later.Hope this helped,Happy camping!

It's a nice military like cot... Some pros and cons.
I've slept on a few cots in my time... I've slept on army cots while in the Army. And I will say this is very similar to the type used in the US military. It's construction is very similar. It unfolds the same and has the same separate end tension bars (that same people don't use). This civilian model is definitely larger, I'm 6'4" and it fits me well. This cot is definitely heavier than the military (all aluminum) cots as it's a bit bigger and has some steel components. Basically it's the same as the US military with some bits changed here and there. The building is the same. Unfold the three legs, stand it up, and then force in the end bars... That last part it's the hardest because your working against the slack of the cot.My only real negative that I didn't expect when ordering this cot was this. There is a protective film over all of the aluminum bars to protect them during the manufacturing process that is still on the bars. It makes them slick and the film will be peeling up quickly.Otherwise it's a good comfortable cot. I have zero regrets and the film is minor really.

Exactly what I was looking for - but better
I bought two of these cots. They are even better than I was expecting. Putting them together involved utilizing some muscles. But that's good, because it made the canvas taught, which made the cot very comfortable. I had a thin pad on top of the cot and it was super comfortable for me. Easy to get in and out of without worrying about it collapsing...very sturdy. I recommend these.

Great cot
These are great. I bought one initially to try it out and after being impressed with it I bought a second. It’s a narrow footprint but that’s what I needed. I had an old mattress topper so I cut a piece of foam to fit and it sleeps awesome. Without the foam it’s still comfortable enough but as should be expected, it’s stiff and flat. Not sure what the fuss is about setting it up...I found it pretty easy and takes just a couple minutes. The fabric is a little tight but it’s supposed to be and if you can’t stretch it the little bit to secure the cross braces you probably shouldn’t be camping without adult supervision. It’s heavier and bulkier than I would want to backpack or hike with but in my cabin tent at the deer lease it’s perfect. It actually goes back in the bag pretty easily which was a surprise since no camping equipment ever goes back into the same bag it came in.

Sure beats sleeping on the ground.
This cot will be the perfect addition to my camping equipment. Very sturdy, yet collapsible design makes transporting it relatively easy. Sure will beat sleeping on the ground. The storage pouches also are very handy.

Size and sturdiness issues
Bought this cot to fit within confined space. Actual max width on cot I received was 36 1/4 inches which was on the aluminum cross beams. Legs measured 31 1/2" when spread. I should note that both cross beams were of different length but that 36 1/2" was the longer of the 2. I set up the cot and a simple shake from side to side in the center showed me it was not a cot that would last. And the canvas is thinner than my Teton, in fact there's just no comparison between the 2 so I returned it immediately. I have no doubt that I would have had to be careful when using this cot - and that's from day 1.

Happy Camper
I just received the Tough Outdoor Camping Cot, (gray large), and it seems perfect for me. I am 5 foot 5 and less than 150 lbs. I thought it was going to be a lot harder to put the end pieces on but it really wasn't all that bad. The directions said that the end pieces were very different in size but the ones I received were exactly the same size. It seems pretty sturdy but I did notice the fabric squeaked a little bit when I sat up. The material seems like the quality is there and the accessory storage bag is a nice addition. I have it paired with a Willpo Memory Foam Camping Pad I got from Amazon (99.00), and a self-inflating pillow I picked up from Bargain Hunt for 8 bucks. I am usually a side sleeper but when I laid down on my back I was instantly comfortable and could see me sleeping in that position through the night. I rolled over on my side and didn't feel quite as comfortable as the 1st position. I am happy with the purchase and excited to take her car camping next weekend. I will update after my maiden voyage with her but so far I think she will be a peach!

Super durable, easy to clean, EXTREMELY easy set up and coooooomfy!I was done with inflatable mattresses and decided to up grade, finally.Slightly stiff on first set up, but by the third set-up the end rails slide on like butter. Very happy with this investment.100% satisfied!Highly-recommended

Did not deliver what was advertised.
Everything said camping “cot” bought 2 for our grandkids. When it arrived, it was only the pouch that was on the side of the cot. AFTER it arrived I went back online & THEN it said EVERYWHERE, COT NOT INCLUDED!!’ If we’d known that, we would have NEVER ordered it. Angry, disappointed & feel robbed!!! NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!
