These were an easy install. Just pop out a clip on each end and they pop right off. I just held the lift gate up with one hand and popped the new ones on. Just do one side at a time. My old ones were sagging about 6-8 inches. These new ones open all the way removing the sagging. Now I don't have to duck my head when getting stuff out of the back. So far they work great. 5 stars.

Just what I needed

Hard to install alone. The lift gate is heavy........... They work well lift itcright up when they get installed.

I don't leave many reviews but these are worth reviewing. I saw a handful of negative reviews and not sure why. They seem high quality and have plenty of compression. Taking off the old ones are super easy. Screwdriver tip to pry away the collar and then just tug a bit, pop right off (watch your head if you don't have a broom or similar as a support). The new ones pop on even easier. My 9 year old put one end on. Now instead of walking around our 2006 Suburban with 230,000 miles and bustin' my noggin' on the lift gate or window, I can open the lift gate with my pinky, it raises on its own, and I can hang a small child by their shirt collar without the hatch dipping down in the way. I wish I would have replaced these 5 years ago. Would definitely buy again.

Replaced old ones on 2006 GMC Yukon.

The tailgate on my 2006 Tahoe was sagging down, especially in cold weather. These struts fit perfectly and the gate lifts itself now, just like it did when new. A 15 minute job to replace them with only 2 tools needed - a small screwdriver and a long stick to hold up the open gate during the process. Watch a YouTube video for the non-obvious use for the screwdriver - the struts themselves have no installation instructions.

After buying these replacement struts in sept, not putting them on until Oct., they worked fine until December, then totally failed, not even remotely holding up my Yukon tailgate. Now since the originals lasted 15 or so years, I expected these replacements to last a little longer then 3 months. After reaching out to the seller, and providing them with pictures and a video, they have stopped responding, so I would definitely not recommend this product or seller.

I needed them but had to use my old good one with one of them. Both new ones wouldn't hold gate up... Couldn't be bothered trying more... I guess they helped 1/2
